That's great news—he is a better back rower than either of the current back rowers. I think Kautago is a liability in defence, and he offers little in attack.
Can anyone please tell me what exactly Ryles sees in Kautago? Defence is poor. Only offers a few runs per game, with little impact, mistakes galore and appears lazy from what I have watched. Please explain?
22 years old with a lot of potential? We are dying for an attacking threat on the edge. There's plenty to work with.
92% tackle efficiency in defence this year. Has some areas to tidy up but hardly the turnstile he is being made out to be. He at least trys hard to get in position. I think the heat and his inexperience play apart in his fatigue. That will improve.
1 error on the weekend is hardly errors galore.
129 running metres on the weekend is hardly' a few good runs per game'
He isn't perfect but is improving every game. We don't have many 2nd row options up to nrl standard atm.
I agree I think athletically Kautonga is better than anyone else we have like you mentioned he's just a bit raw is all.Onething I do know is this we can't keep chopping and changing our selections as how do we build combinations.
So you rely on one game to justify this position ? People see what they want to see. Now post his stats for every game this this season and see how we go? Just like Sean Lanes efforts. His last game makes him a club legend. OMG Watch the amount of time Kautoga spends walking around in back play when a hit up is required. Says it all!
Haha so you justify your position off 3 games in the starting team but im not allowed to use stats from his last game? Don't you see the irony there. I said he is improving each game and worth persisting with for now as we don't have many other options. Didn't call him a club legend or the next Kikau. I bet you called Gutho useless and a waste of space after 5 games.
For the record the 92% tackle efficiency is a stat from across all 4 games this year. Not just 1. He had 80m against Manly and 1 error.
He is a kid who is improving. It doesn't mean he has a mortgage on the spot or even guarantee he will be a regular nrl player. But he is worth giving a go to for now.
Matto is a quandry for me as I don't see him here long term so what really is the point.
I mean the same point was made about DB the other week if they aren't long term options outside of depth there the only reason you'd give them playing time over longer term options.
"How? The kid has never played 6 other than Tonga U18's. Pretty much every good Fullback has skills that can translate to 6, Tedesco looks like it, Pap has those elements too. If you have a good pass on you and can run those are skills needed for a…"
"As much as I would love to see Cobbo at Parra, I wouldn't be moving Iongi from the fullback role to accommodate him.
Also, if we can get Galvin from next year, I can't see any reason why we wouldn't regardless of who his manager is.
I see a…"
"I'd be sticking with Iongi at FB and Galvin for 5/8. We all know his manager is ruthless, and it's clearly just a ploy to get him it of his final contract year.
I'd have Cobbo on the wing, but I prefer Iongi at FB because of his ball playing ability."

Badly but Serapy, if we are relying on Russell goal kicking we are in deep shit. My understanding is Hawkins is quiet accomplished.
Matto needs to go to lock
Why when we have Hopgood there....am I missing something?
