Earlier this morning, Jim Sarantinos was on SEN with Matt White. Here are the key highlights of the interview:

* Mitchell Moses is an outside chance of returning before round nine, potentially for the R7 clash with the Tigers at Commbank pending medical assessment. But, the Eels would take precautionary approach of there were any risks suggesting perhaps less likelihood of an early return.

* When asked about Cherry Evans, Sarantinos reiterated that Moses is our on feild leader, and we're not interested in DCE we're looking at other players.

* On the the 5/8 position Jim noted there was a short term, middle and long term perspective to weigh up saying, "we're looking at players in the short term, and when others come off contract in 26 we're looking at players who'll provide a long term deal with the club looking at players who'll give us the best opportunity to win a premiership" (Galvin perhaps?)

* Eels will be hitting the external market with some cash

  • Good news if true. It will be a timely boost to get our season back on track. I just hope he is fully fit.

  • New Signings i am more excited about. Maybe King-Togia is one. But if new signings are being talked about does that mean an announcement in coming days?

  • Fox interviewed Moses before Dragons game and Lara Pitt asked him if he'd  ever back for Magic Round and he responded along the lines of hopefully before, which lines up with SEN

    • I think, if you ask Moses he would be back for Wests. He loves playing Wests and Easter Monday as well. Plus it is a long turnaround from Darwin too.

Ryles will listen to medical as he should. So let's see. At least if he does play Wests Tigers he has 11 days to recover for Cronulla.

  • All that was said was

    * Moses is a chance of coming back in r7 dependent on the medical staff

    * When asked about Cherry Evans, Sarantinos reiterated that Moses is our on feild leader, and we're not interested in DCE we're looking at other players.

    * the 5/8 position we're looking at players in the short term, and when others come off contract in 26 we're looking at players who'll provide a long term deal with the club looking at players who'll give us the best opportunity to win a premiership  (ie. Galvin perhaps?
