Sam Tuivaiti

Alot of praise can go out to several players yesterday but for me big Sam announced himself yesterday with big minutes and more importantly impactful minutes. When Sam and Luca came on they absolutely shifted the momentum id dare say it was Lucas best game in 1st grade apart from the sin bin.

Obviously Moses and Iongi etc get the praise they deserve but Sam has impressed me since the start but yesterday he was a proper 1st grade player.

    • That's unlike Eels fans.  Once Tom Humble gets a run the rest of the comps in serious trouble.

      • I stand by Tom Humble the problem was the comp wasn't good enough for him he struggled to lower his game to that level.

Jake Mullaney had the same problem

Just wait till Etu Uaisele gets going John folou too

        • Tom Humble was so tough he once ate a box of sleeping pills and it only made him blink. What about that kid we had who was the next Sonny Bill.  He was useless too , actualy we've had more " next Sonny Bills " than the whole Williams family combined.

The Great Philip Sim could rally behind a young imposter ,that's for sure. 😂.  I do miss Phil's insights .

      • I'm stoked the way Tui has aimed up so quickly in his 1st grade career.

He's showing so much promise and bringing unexpected joy to us all.

I first heard of him, probably thru EA, 2 years ago and so watched him play Junior Origin and was a little disappointed with his low work rate. He'd do a hit-up and then rest up behind the line, much like Doorey did.

So I've been thrilled that he,and Doorey have both increased their involvment and looking so good.....just out of the blue. What a bonus

      • Agree with you Joel, I really went out of my way to spell and pronounce Otoikamanu and 12 months later realised it was a waste. Big Sam is a different style of player reminds me of Bob O'Reilly who emerged at about the same age.

Parramatta Tragic will love that comparison, what do you think Mark?

        • I just hope BigSam doesn't take after the Bear when eating a meat pie sitting in front of a poker machine at Lithgow workies when it didn't pay out  he stuffed it down the coin slot and said you took all the money have the stuffing pie as well . Got barred from there as well  knew the old bear a real character

          • Slugg told a funny story of when he was travelling and stopped at a hotel which was run by The Bear and his lovely wife. After closing time they all stayed up drinking intop the wee hours and Bob fronted up at the crack of dawn serving a full breakfast to Slugg's room a few hours later looking a million bucks. The only sign of a big night was when the bill printed out for about $7,000.00....sorted with laughs all around.

            • Yes Tragic remember that story from the old mate hey  miss the big bugger hey . He regarded you as a good freind bud

"Disappointed to see him get injured again..
I've been a fan of his since he joined us. Offered speed out wide as we clearly lacked it with some of our past outside backs.
Guymer, Russell should be in the team either!"

"Moses was definitely off in his game. Brown was basically non existent and the forwards weren't that great. Overall, it was a game the Eels could have and should have won but they were lacking! Hoping things might change when Lomax returns. "

I didn't see it like that Tad. He lost some composure..and that can have it's uses.
I get the impression that if Mr Ryles lost control in that room we would need a wheelbarrow and a mop"
