"Yep thats the thing. I dont think anyone expected some players to be so much on the outer and JR blood so many younger players. Its why we are suffering this short term pain. Hopefully its better for the long run."

Moses looked deflated, good he had chances to lead us and didn't to be fair. Yes the forwards weren't great but in moment where we led 12-6 and were on their own line you need to capitalise.
He didn't lead. mmmmmm wow. How many tries did we blow. We score them and all of a sudden Moses was great and we win by close to 18 points. Its hard to look good leading fringe first graders, that continue to make mistakes in try scoring positions.I would think.
Blue Eel, I think Moses has to accept some blame....his long kicking was a little off, two tries came off his defensive errors and he should be goal kicking ...Russell is poor. Im not expecting miracles but he had a fair to good game. Dont want to say it but he does have princess vibes......
Doesnt help with no quality edge forwards and a link man in Hopgood who is seriously out of form and has been for a while. That last play to Walker when we had a 3 on 2 was diabolical
Hopgood needs a stint in reserve grade, he's obviously still dealing with an injury
The only thing I will criticise moses for was getting caught on 5th tackle in the red zone two sets in a row and one of those wasn't his fault as it was a good read from herbie who rushed up and hit him before he had time to pass.
So Ryles why are things gonna be different next year? I mean 10 game rookies will be 25 game rookies, need experience either bite the bullet and bring in those dopes from reserve grade or go out and find some experience. Times ticking another season like this and Ryles won't last.
The only experienced player in reserve grade that has been performing is Matto. If you watch Carty he has been playing far worse than Guymer, Kautoga, Tuilagi, etc
There's no quick fixes when a new coach comes in I mean did I see us running last no I didn't but he is right .The teams minimum 2 years away from being consistently competitive that's not winning the comp either. This is just the reality you sign up for when your a first time coach taking on a poorly run side who don't know how to build a sustained winner that's what it is.
Having Moses out 7 weeks didn't help either but we have no choice now we've signed up for JR he's our guy for the next 3-4 years. No use pushing the eject button now if you are I suggest you'd be ejecting those who made this decision also but again from what I understand from this fanbase those guys are untouchable so we go after coaches instead because that works.
Look at the Dogs. Took Ciraldo 2 years to get them properly competitive and that was with spending a ton of money, some massive recruits and a complete roster overhaul.
I'm happy we're going down the roster overhaul route, otherwise it'd just be death by a thousand cuts. Rip the band-aid off, cut the senior players that don't fit or are now dead wood, promote the juniors we identify into first grade, then buy to fill key positions.
I wouldn't be against signing NAS on a 2 year deal as an impact bench forward. Or look for more dynamic ball runners.
Combine that with at least 1 top line edge backrower and a second hooker. I love Ryley Smith, but we can't do what Brad did and flog our best players into the ground so they flame out. And I'm convinced that's why Junior is not the consistent force he once was.
Bottomline is we still aren't at the squad JR would like.
So am I but there are a couple of reasons I don't like our chances.
1.Expansion this is going to create real problems in the recruitment stakes. As much as we are cashed up I still don't think as a club we have the pulling power we once did.
2.Style of play I see alot of similarities and copy cat with how we are playing to teams like the GC and Manly and even with that fine tuned I don't think it's good enough to win the comp. This of course is my own opinion.
3.I still believe this squad is seriously under performing even with its squad the way it is and while we are young I still believe with the halves we have we should at least be knocking on the door of the 8 but we just aren't close.
So when I say 2-3 years that's what I believe it'll take before we sniff finals footy again.Maybe the run we had between 19-22 was the best we may see for awhile I don't know but right now it's hard to see the grass through the trees.
