Watching last night, I don't believe Dylan is anywhere the level he was attaining.
Whether it is the ACL tear (definitely lost pace) but his body language showed to me in pre and post game interviews he doesn't want to go anywhere. I think he sees Parra is home and whilst no one can complain for him taking the 13m, I wonder if he will ever be happy in the Knights wilderness.
I have always been a DB fan, but I also think we burn't him out in the last 2 seasons and confused his role in the process.
I now see DB as a 600pa player and if he maintained his original potential say 800k. i.e my implication is he has lost 25% as a player.
WE have most probably won the jackpot as I think we have seen the best of him whereas I question his future now. I would be surprised if he retains his NZ Test status when you look at the Warriors and their young half.
Watching his current game he is missing tackles, whereas previously he hardly missed a thing. He has also lost confidence in the line, doesn't know or understand his role by the rules that made him recognised in the first place.
We are very lucky and whilst it has been said repeatedly, I cannot believe how dumb the Knights are as he will never be the play maker they have signed for. O'Sullivan has a lot to answer for!

If you cannot offer anything constructive, don't say anything you pathetic fool. He is the NZ Test incumbent and was MOM in the world cup final......no one is interested in your views.
Most pathetic? Come on.
Overrated? Fair enough. Not consistent? Fair call.
Pathetic though? Please. He is a good 5/8. At times great. Last few weeks he has played pretty well off the back of Moses. That has been his issue he needs a good team to do well, as. alot of players do, but at times cannot take control when needed. That's what Newcastle will ask of him and not his fault.
I just do not get why Newcastle went for him. They had Fogarty, Reynolds and DCE off contract. All for much less money. And they are exactly what they need. THey have Ponga so they don't need a flashy match winner.
Idiotic management really.
I guess time will tell but on face value it's a great deal for Dylan and not the club
Potential. All 3 of those halves you mentioned are in the twilight of their career, not the future long term. Brown will play for another 10-12 years. Plus, they have been lucking out in getting halves, one came up that they thought let's shut media up about our halves and get him. Plus Peter O'Sullivan has wanted him for years and never was able to get him. More so a thing for him too.
It's like Sully had a hard on for him for ages and was blinded by the chase. Like a young lad who wanted to root Pamela Anderson in the 90s and then came accross her old arse in 2025 and couldn't resist having a crack just to say he landed Pam Anderson.
Sully will either come out of it some kind of genius that proved the whole NRL world ( bar Coryn of course ) wrong , or ..he'll move along quick smart and leave Newcastle to wear the blame for signing the dumbest contract in the history of Rugby League .
None of those guys were available at the beginning of the year when this deal was done and none of them have a connection to Newcastle and another thing is all of them are touching or well into there 30s in DCEs case.
When you've got a recruitment officer in Peter O'Sullivan whose been chasing DB for the last 4-5 years it's a pretty good reason why Newcastle wanted him specifically.
Had a few beers with a mate I used to do some coaching with.
He' s earmarked to be the Southern Orcas high performance coach if the bid is a success.
After talking to him it's hard to beleive the Bears and PNG are in front of them.
They have some heavy hitters and some serious money behind them , a 100 million dollar centre of excellence ready to go .
Its when not if on what I was told , based out of Christchurch not Wellington.
