Is tapau worth a look?

Sounds like he is done at broncos and he wants to come back to Sydney, would be cheap, plenty of experience and a big body?

My only concern would be the drama he might bring with him.

  • He's 35 and it's starting to show in his game. For the rest of the year maybe but I wouldn't want him for next year or onwards as he'd just block our junior development

  • 1 year deal for the rest of the year, we have 1 million in cap space might aswell use it

  • For this year? Sure why not.

    • I'm with you LB, beggars can't be choosy, he could be very handy in the right circumstances.

I don't hold petty grudges. He would start as a reserve for Reserve Grade and then we see where he fits to suit our needs. There is a few things he coud teach our young forwards in circumstances of their development.

He for example would have more mongrel in him than anyone else in our current pack.

      Whats the price of mongrel?

      • Well even better he would be super cheap this year being halfway through. Might only cost around $200k for him maybe less.

  • Jesus christ guys why do you want us to sign players for the sake of signing players.

I'd rather play our Harold Matts props than sign Marty Taupau. Fucking hell.

    • For this year it would not hurt to get some results. He can help for this year. If we signed him for 2026 forget it.

  • No way in the world. He was supposed to sign with us and was virtually a done deal , then flipped .  Wouldn't offer him a lifeline if we were a player short and had to forfeit.

    • From memory he was literally on the massage table at Parra training when his phone rang, he left and then announced as a Bronco. Yeh F*** him. Go and play Q Cup old mate.

      • Yup,and that was after he sooked in the media about Des not releasing him to play for us mid season leading up to the GF.  Sooked and sooked about wanting to play for us , then when he finally as far as running through the medical process , he gets what he decides is a better offer and off he trots .

Now he gone and fucked up , obviously still sooking , he can get well and truely fucked.

"Dom De Stradis runs great lines and works hard. He is like Briton Nikora. Small built. Under 100kg. He is 21 so older than the above.
Polley is only 17 this year so is SG ball next year unlike the above. He will be a gun.

"EA, how was Coinakis in Flegg? Do you think he is that good that he could overtake Smith in time as the starter, pushing in 2027, or is Smith the better prospect?"
