How Good were the Broncos?

Have to applaud Kevin Walters for the great job he's done with the Broncos this year. They've got strike power in the whole side. The players are powerful, strong, fast, fit, athletic. They're going to be very hard to beat and definitely deserve the premiership this year. Wish the Eels had a pack like that and a determined coach like Walters.

    • How good is Carrigan, Hass has improved incredibly

  • Let's not kid ourselves, they've had the raw talent to be this dominant the last four years, Wayne Bennett knew this, they just needed a veteran game manager, Reynolds, to point them in the right direction and a tough veteran forward, Capewell, to give them a harder edge. But, they really need to do it this year.

    • 😂😂😂😂😂

  • They played well. Then look at our rabble.

  • The storm made them look better than they were

  • Man did we try hard enough for staggs or farnsworth....esp Staggs damn hes good

  • Why can't Munster and Grant play like that in origin?  Melb has definitely lost a lot the last few years.  Goes to show quality

As for broncos they won't be torn apart.  Already heard òn radio the TPAs will come back in affect and confident of keeping most of team together.  If Reynolds stays he will take pay cut after next year.  Mam will apparently get a few hundred thousand in TPAs  as well

    • They've already lost Farnworth & Flegler for next year. The Dolphins, even more than the Titans are providing a legit alternative to Broncos players.
I can tell you the Thoroughbreds were disbanded because the club was getting sick of players and managers demanding more and more money, additionally the Breds started to have some casual links to organised crime. Individuals linked to bikies had infiltrated the Thoroughbreds and players were getting up to some serious shit. When News Ltd caught wind of it they shut them down pronto. It was all kept very hush hush. The Broncos managed to cut loose of it before they got too entangled, but it was a warning shot across the bow of most clubs.

      • There are still plenty of TPAs available for Brisbane.  Part of the reason why Kevvie survived was backing from former players and influential figures around the club.  The influential figures are the money men.

If other coaches were given same chance and support Walters has had, they may have succeeded but most are not given as long as kevvie has had unless they are at the Eels.

Part of distancing the club from thoroughbreds also prevented Kevvie getting coaching role earlier as that was their preference.   By getting and keeping kevvie it shows those with influence over the club are involved again.
