Hell On Eels replied to Mr 'BringBackFitzy' Analyst's discussion Talagi rejects player option, now on the open market
"True. At least at fullback, he won't need to make as many tackles in the front line. Also, as the Broncos have Blazing, Reece-lighning speed, he also might not miss many tackles."

Poppa replied to Mr 'BringBackFitzy' Analyst's discussion Talagi rejects player option, now on the open market
"I always said he was a half, with Sanders going, that was the option to develop him, and I am not talking now, in NSW Cup where he can learn to tackle. The aim should be preparing him to play half from that perspective and he should not be in FG…"

Hell On Eels replied to Mr 'BringBackFitzy' Analyst's discussion Talagi rejects player option, now on the open market
"I suppose it makes sense Talagi & his agent are out gold-digging for opportunities. It's as common as kids peeing in pools. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Pops, to be fair, the likes of Dylan, Gutho, Lane and co. have publicly stated the kid has an…"

LB replied to Mr 'BringBackFitzy' Analyst's discussion Talagi rejects player option, now on the open market
"Well not so much since he is not a Fullback, if he is to be a good one it is a year or two away. If he flops at Fullback the next month, Roosters would still grab him to play Centre and train him to play 6 which is the position he has played the…"

Poppa replied to Mr 'BringBackFitzy' Analyst's discussion Talagi rejects player option, now on the open market
"Well there is an asumption there.... no one seems to have addressed the situation  BECAUSE he may have the same problem at fullback as he had at 5/8 and slightly lessor degree Centre.
i.e. will he last 5 weeks at fullback, it maybe he will be such…"

Hell On Eels replied to Hell On Eels's discussion Houston In Hindsight: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
"Coryn, You make insightful & intelligent points as does Pops.
Regardless of the board or GM, I don't see how we can absolve BA.
His job is winning or finding a way, not being a rock.
If he truly thinks he can't do it under the GM or board, why stay…"

SuperEel 22 replied to Mr 'BringBackFitzy' Analyst's discussion Talagi rejects player option, now on the open market
"He's now got a full month though to show if he's a promising NRL fullback. And they can command decent money on potential alone. His agent is doing exactly what he should be doing. Before Gutho's injury, Talagi was being seen as simply a stop gap…"

Tevita Taumoepenu now at South Sydney

In NSW Cup last week, Tevita Taumoepenu was on the bench for South Sydney. Seems we were able to offload him too. So another spot in the top 30 now available. Just another odd top 30 future signing we made that went horribly wrong. He was nothing more than a bench player who would come on for 20min stints when signed to a development deal in 2023 then upgraded to top 30 in 2024 to keep him. 2023, he would only appear in a handful of games off the bench mid year. Played all year this year in Ron…

Houston In Hindsight: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

2024 is fast free-falling into an annus horribilis maximus, going from bad to worse now that we will be without Gutherson who joins Moses on the sidelines. That's probably a fair scoop of $2m worth of salary cap. Hence, it’s best we kick off with some of the good stuff. Miraculously, after the round nine we sit 12th: two points outside the eight but also only four points off last-place on a knife's edge.   Below are stats current as of the end of round nine and from Foxsport Stat Lab, which…

Parra Should Swoop On McNamara If Bennett Heads To Souths

Coaching jobs in the NRL don’t get much bigger than South Sydney. Jason Demetriou, sacked this week, knew that and accepted it at every turn, insisting to the last that it was his privilege to come to work at the club every day. Now, with the hot seat open, the Bunnies have to box clever on what they want from the next guy, widely tipped to be a second helping of Wayne Bennett. It is seen as a fait accompli, but that is far from the case. Bennett would have loved to have returned alongside…

NRL admits bunker got it wrong on roosters obstruction call

Graham Annesley has conceded a controversial obstruction call that cost Roosters star Joey Manu a fair try against the Panthers was wrong. The NRL head of football has wasted no time conceding that video referee Chris Butler failed to use the necessary level of discretion in incorrectly deeming that Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards was obstructed from defending the no-try due to a collision with Roosters decoy runner Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. The alleged obstruction from Waerea-Hargreaves on…

Nuclear Power a Balanced View

I previously wrote a blog on the subject of nuclear power.Professor Daz basically took my comments apart and justifiably so as I had nowhere near the knowledge or research capacity to lay a factual basis for the proliferation of nuclear power other than a view I privately held via an economist friend of mineI receive a lot of economic commentary and a newsletter I receive from another economist paints what I believe to be a more balanced view of the discussion. I say this because Daz pointed…

What is everyone's preferred BBQ meat choice?

So Sunday, to celebrate the start of a new season, i am hosting my mates with a BBQ, pool table, darts and man cave while watching the Vegas matches. Though i am curious for a fun discussion what is everyone else's go to for the BBQ? For me, a piece of Scotch Fillet, seasoned with salt and a BBQ seasoning which consists of mustard seeds, paprika, thyme, garlic and more that i cannot remember, cooked to medium rare to medium, simply devine. All i can say is on a pan cooked same is my death row…
