AHH THE GOOD OLD DAYS

Well here we are its grand final day and it marks the end of another season and I thought I would just reflect o n seasons gone by

I miss the old times of when you would have the old backyard Barbie with the family and selected mates and get half cut before the 3 o'clock kickoff

When beer was full flavoured and full of hops .not the chemical made crap of today .AHH give me the old KB or DA any day

When all this climate change talk was not an issue and people did not push their beliefs down  each other's throats one way or the other

When the warm and fuzzy brigade did not get their knickers in a Knott when some of us have said we dont go for female commentators or female Refs and touch judges .AHH bring Back Frank Hyde Rexy Ferris Ashton Alan Clackson .Hollywood Hartley .that tall cheating bastard from up north that used to referee the state of origin the grasshopper Gomersal .Ahh  the good old day's. But in saying all that I'll still watch the game tonight .just hope that its a good game .WHO to win dont really care as i dont go much on either team .just good luck to both teams and may the best team wins on its own merits and with out to much controversy and finally i just wish everbody and their family's a safe and happy grand final Day .but i still miss the good old days

  • Was at the bat and ball pub after 1969 GF Balmain defeating south, with the boys from the Bush ,a massive brawl broke out when one of our group grabbed a Souths flag from a vw that was at the lights,it it was on ,the man at his hot dog stand took off at the speed of a winger ,I think he might be still running .

  • Purse your lips and exhale. Well my old man f...cked that up in the birds and bees talk.

  • All of the above and I also miss people not being able to have a smoke without the authorities saying you can’t smoke in public places etc ( I have never smoked but I detest the government interference)

Or ride a bloody pushie without having to wear a bloody helmet!

Or being forced to have low alcohol beer at the footy

or having to accept a certain doctrine be it climate change or women’s rights or gay rights and having it shoved down your throat and if you don’t accept it you are an outcast.

  • I miss no internet so I didn't have to listen to you old bastards whinge about how good the old days where:)

I miss 3.00pm kick offs. You'd be so psyched as a kid emulating the plays from the GF, running around till dark and the dry day weather made for better footy.

    • At least we have gotten to be old bastards

  • Born during the 2 nd world Hector were you ,I was.

"Saifiti was always going to back-up, he was going to get limited minutes. Though shows what a joke of a selection it was to start with. Haas will be in for him now anyway."

"I think the issue many see is sin bin v send off. Many do not argue against a sin bin it is send off that is the problem. Now the debate is about head clash or shoulder to head. No rapping of the arm and shoulder did contact the head."

"Poor Eels, they probably thought Saifiti and Ponga would miss our game and now they both will back up"

"Ok now that is a joke. Suaali'i got 4 weeks for his hit. So pretty much undermines Klein as well for calling a send off.
But Hopoate accidentally makes contact with ref and gets a week?"

"What 'irrecoverable injury' did Watmough have when we signed him Poppa? he played Origin plus 20 NRL games the year before coming to Parra. In fact, those 20 games were the ninth straight year he played 20+ games. He even played 17 games for us.…"

"Illegal shoulder charge with direct contact to the head with his head or shoulder (or both), it doesnt matter with current interpretation. What matters is it results in koala now missing games. Not exactly a crazy deliberate act but those be the…"

"How was it a terrible call? It was a text book shoulder charge that ended up making contact with the head. Whether contact was made using his shoulder or head, Ponga, as the defender, had a duty of care. To answer your question he should miss at…"

"I cant say we were the better side but we won in the end through some class plays .   Ponga was maximum 10 minutes if at all .  Once koula was injured and off the field , Klein was always going to send him off .  I am not convinced with this team…"

"Yes, Ponga...the only reason we won.
I love the win, and I'll take it, but Daley again proved he is a shocking coach. If we change nothing we either lose the next two games or we get lucky again with a send-off or a few sin-bins to snag a win."

"Edwards, Moses, Strange and Brailey should be the spine.
But NSW doing NSW things have made sure that Teddy and Cleary will keep their spots even though they were both super average. Yes, a few clutch moments when we had an extra player on the…"

"The only difference was Walsh got hit after passing so the argument was he was relaxed and his head hit the floor after. What made it worse for Ponga, to be send off, was not rapping the arm."

"Was not a send off. Definitely a sin bin.
Have not seen too many replays however he did not wrap his arms around in a genuine tackle attempt and even though there was head to head contact it was still a dangerous, high risk play.
