  • shit coach - good palyer only beacuase of the team around him at the raiders

    • He was a great player. He made the players around him look good.

  • Definitely yes, but in saying that I think Origin is past its used by date. It's only still on because of the big $$$ they make from it but as a spectacle I think it's actually boring. The way the commentators carry on about it is monotonous. Moses and Cleary don't work well together and Moses did basically nothing except his long kicks. QLD will win the series for sure unless the $400k middle man can pull off an upset

    • There are traces of truth in that post Mallee but you cannot overcome your basic lack of thinking ability...... "origin is past its used by date" hmmm.....how many people were there last night Mallee and how many people will be at Suncorp for the decider. Use your brains for half a second!

Where I agree, not with you as I have been saying it forever, is that Moses and Cleary are not complimentary in any shape or form.....quite simply Moses should be in the squad but only as a back up to Cleary i.e. 6 man bench allows that to work.

Final point in all the time I have been watching any game, I do not think I have ever seen a finer goal kicking display by the 2 Kickers.....absolutely amazing!

      • Because large crowds turn up Origin which is to be expected as Aussies will turn up in crowds to watch a cockroach race if money, beer and gambling is involved! It doesn't mean as a spectacle it's still great! In my opinion it's lost a lot of the excitement, contest, charisma it once had. It's just boring compared to its past years. That's only my personal opinion and everyone is different! Moses kicking game was the main reason he was employed but it did little really in the final analysis. Moses is a 7 not a 6! He was better when combined with Luai

        • When was the last time you attended a coackroach race Mallee.....and what is wrong with money, beer and gambling, are you somewhat of  a "wowser" as well as a fool!

  • 8 wins, 12 losses.
1 series win, 5 series losses.
Daley's coaching record @ SOO level speaks for itself.

If NSW lose Game 3, which is highly likely without personnel change and a different approach to the attack, surely Daley is toast?

Why wasn't Api put in? Why put Lucas there? Why select AFB and play him less than a normal shift? Why wasn't Murray out there? Baffling decisions? I also think he is getting his outside backs wrong. To'o and Staggs each had poor games in First and second game respectively, but NSW are missing game breaking players like Mitchell or Turbo. Lack of X factor in outside backs (Marky Mark the exception).

  • Size. Speed. Power. Commitment. We were missing all four.

Get rid of Tedesco, To'o, Staggs, Cleary, Robson, Lucas, Yeo (plodder at this level) and Barnett (at an absolute minimum). Daley's selections and coaching style are deplorable. How did he even get this job in the first place?

  • If anything, this game puts a red line through Laurie Daley as NSW coach. He only got it after Maguire I think because no one else put their hand up. We need Ivan Cleary to go a year early and take the job as he's shown interest I believe.

The selections and use of the bench last night removed all doubt he is out of his league and was out coached by Slater, full stop. Cleary had a massive hip pointer bruise from game 1 and was needled to get through the game. Our forward pack was outmuscled, which is ridiculous when we have someone like Haas in our line up. Just plain baffling in the end and we got what we deserved. It basically means NSW is on the lookout for a new coach.

  • Origin coaching is different to NRL, some don't believe it but it is. You are practically a selector and a match preparer and motivational speaker.

Issue with Daley, he has stuffed up all those areas. From not picking players that are in form for reasons he cannot articulate. To stuffing up his bench by not knowing how to incorporate certain players into the game. His media pressers are boring, lays too much out there with his game plans and is too nice.

The elements of Origin coaching, which is completely different to NRL, he is failing in pretty much every metric. I mean two straight camps he's had a starter ruled out due to injury sustained at camp. Like the hell.

Wonderful bloke, met him once and generally a wonderful human. He wanted to be an NRL coach, I think he would fail at that miserably as he is too nice. Tactically and squad building wise, depending on how he wants his style of player, would he all over the place.

Now question is, does Ivan Cleary go for NSW or Australia job? If NSW want him, they can get him 2027, break their rule of never hiring a club coach and have that for one year before he moves on. Does Boyd Cordner take it who many have said his motivational talks pre game are incredible. Matt King as well mentioned.

There is no clear choice other than Cleary but NSW are too stubborn and idiotic in their criteria of a non NRL coach.

As for asking the worst? Well the sample size of coaches who have coached as many Origins as him are slim. There would have been worse but they never got to more than 1-2 series to show it. Worse for the amount he has coached? By a mile. Though he is a yes man too to NSWRL.
