LB replied to Blue Eel's discussion Eels V Dragons 3-2-1
"He is 32 this year so of course not, he is on the decline. Has been since 2024 where i noticed from Round 1 he looked slower. His best year was 2020 but til 2023 was his prime."

LB replied to Blue Eel's discussion Eels V Dragons 3-2-1
"He still has the ability, his body just lets him down. Early 2024 he started losing pace and you can see it. But he still has a prescence on the field. Dragons lose him and they fall a part more."

"Very lucky we have so many forwards, sucks for Hopgood but we are not short on options. Outside backs a big issue "

Coryn Hughes replied to EA's discussion How do we shape our forward pack for the rest for 2026
"Great thread EA.

Eels95 replied to EA's discussion How do we shape our forward pack for the rest for 2026
"He looks stronger and a bit quicker. I think he is ready to take the next step in his game and be a genuine nrl player. We always have the experience of JDB to fall back onto if it doesn't work."

"I do not mind that, his attack is not overly great but last year he handled his own, even today at Centre he did ok. Lock could be his spot."

Blue Eel replied to EA's discussion Hopgood acl
"Hoppy, out for the year. I'm not so sure we have the fowards required from this point on. Lose 1 more middle and we are in all sorts. The way teams are carving us up in the first 20minutes straight down the Middle is of huge concern. The Riff next…"

"Tuivita starts (is it time?), DeBelin starting lock, junior comes off the bench and someone comes in to replace hopgood off the bench (I'm not sure who - next man up). Williams needs to be on an edge"

LB replied to EA's discussion How do we shape our forward pack for the rest for 2026
"Maybe De Belin is brought back in for some experience? Personally i would go Tuivaiti to start and Moretti onto the bench. I know Doorey and Moretti are similar Props but Tuivaiti is better suited to starting over them.
Teancum Brown in time could…"

Eels V Dragons 3-2-1

What a sea sawing game, with the referee really trying to influence the result. Some desperate digging deep in defence and working under fatigue coupled with some very very bad ball play by the Dragons has let us take the 2 points. So much more…
