Just wondering on people thoughts on these players that are choosing to play for other nations other that Australia.
I don't have any problem with players wanting to represent your parents nation but, I really think the state or origin was established as a stepping stone for young Australian players to be battle hard & be promoted to the national side as a reward.
At no point has that ever changed, well not that I'm aware of. It's just happening & it's being allowed to happen so nobody gets their feelings hurt.

It's been 30 years since Origin was considered a geniune Kangaroos selection trial. Whilst there has never been any official announcement, the reality is that it is no longer the case. The cultural demographics of the games playing population has changed significantly in that time. Eligibility rules have to adapt accordingly.
Another reason why the Origin concept is dead . When you see these blow ins up there refusing to sing the anthem because they don't identify as Australians , as far as I'm concerned they don't see Origin as anything other than a paycheque or a stepping stone to bigger contracts .
NSW played like a bunch of pansies who were not prepared to cop a week or two suspension to stick up for their team mates .
Wizz I think your correct, sad that we have to try &!please everybody because little Stu wants to play origin. Well we can't have him upset, let's change it all around so little Stu also happy. No backbone to stick to rules & stop causing problems by changing & moving the goalposts every time some offended.
It started when they let Adrian Lam play for Queensland even though he was from PNG so they could give the maroons a chance under Vautin.
Again trying to keep origin "alive" is actually killing the concept
Can't remember the last time SOO was used as a guide for the Australian team.
There has been a lot of players plat tests prior to SOO, ie When Anzac tests used to be around or on Anzac Day that was well before SOO
