Raiders no halfback getting pumped

First game without fogarty and they are getting pumped at home.

A halfback with a long kicking game is so important to where u start to defend a set after a kick. Also, impacts your 5th tackle play.  They have just lost 40-0 at home.

look what the roosters did to dragons with walker back.

this is not a defend BA blog, he still should be sacked imo. However, we are a different team with Moses in the team.

  • Thing is look at that Raiders roster. It is a bottom 4 squad. They are overs achieving massively, Fogarty out was the killer.

We still have a good squad minus Moses.

    • Raiders forward pack is better than ours.

      Positions 2-5, they are better.

1,6,7 we win. Are the raiders really are bottom 4 roster?

  • Well deserved on Ricks 500th coaching game LMFAO!

    • Couldn't of happened to a more deserving cunt.

  • Raiders should have had a better back up option,  but when Wighton decided to leave less than 12 months back, the had little time to find a replacement, but they did have enough foresight to realise this and signed Sanders.

Brad Arthur however has zero foresight and had no back up plan for Moses being out.  His first option was to have a five-eighth and and a bit part fullback/ centre/ 5/8 fill the void, & everyone but ba knew that this was a complete balls up before it happened

  • Yeah funny that. People will say halfbacks don't make the tackles the Canberra players missed and they would be right. He wouldn't but such people don't understand the game.

Of interest both Canberra and Manly will have their halfbacks out next week. Manly at home will romp home still.

  • And The Titans sacked their coach because Meninga sent Fogerty to Canberra . If we remember correctly Ricky's head was on the chopping block at the time . And nobody in the media questions  Mals motives or conflict of interests  , just talked about how poor their coach was .  How dopey were the Titans owners to back that dumb shit in letting their halfback go.  Fogerty transformed the Faiders .

    • Yes agreed here Wiz; Mal showed his loyalty to his old Sticky mate.

Ricky was on the chopping block; Mal talks dribble. Fogartys kicking and defence alone is more than decent.

  • Losing your halfback is a massive problem for teams like Parra and Canberra compared to teams like Penrith and the Broncos.

The difference being that Parramatta and Canberra have very very average coaches compared to Penrith and the Broncos.

The later two coaches implement game plans around the loss of their halfbacks where as the former two coaches play the same game plan but with shit options filling the halfback void.

    • You could argue it's because both of those teams have a 5/8 that's capable in the halfbacks absence . Wheras ours isn't anywhere near a smart enough footballer. Plenty of teams with bum coaches have played well over the years on the back of the talent on the paddock. 5 minutes ago Walters was regarded as worse than Paul Langmack as a coach. Has he all of a sudden become Jack Gibson over the offseason a couple of years ago ? People keep harping on about how talented our squad is , then realistically the ball boys should be able to take the whistle and they'd be playing at least half decent footy.  Meninga won 300 origins , was he a master tactician ? Or were the troops just top quality players ?  I get Arthur has some very tough questions to answer , but come on if Brown was this brilliant player we keep hearing about then we'd at least be seeing more than him just looking a bit good when he runs it. He's been mostly  pretty easily accounted for by some pretty average players.

We are not Penrith or Brisbane without our halfback because his partners fucking useless when he has the responsibility of creating anything. As an attacking weapon he makes a great defende . Other than the occasional brilliant game which we've all seen a handfull of , I reckon he's  hit his ceiling for the next few years.  He'll seem much better when Moses comes back , but is he really better or does Mitch just make him look as such ?

This guy some eggsperts rave about being better than Munster and would have brown up there as top 5 or 10 players in the NRL , and yet couldn't put bums like The Tigers or the Dolphins reserve graders under the blow torch . It's actually been a breath of fresh air hearing guys like Hindy and Mathew Johns questioning his game. He needs to be called out to motivate his arse after getting his cushy new deal wheras he doesn't really have to do anything spectacular until he almost retires. Hindy almost went as far as calling him overated a few weeks back.

We all know what he can do if he wants to, but that's like having a Lambo with a Tesla motor in it . He's not hungry nor competitive enough.
