Postgame interview after their last game Lomax told reporters he has no real issue with playing on the wing. Seems to be his best position and would allow Gutho to play in the centres.

1. Talagi

2. Lomax

3. Penisini

4. Gutho

5. Bailey

  • Does make  you wonder why he left Dragons then. But he was probably just being polite. Answer the questions as civil as possible and move on.

    • Heard something about them not letting him box in the offseason, and probably the club just seems unstable tbh.

    • Everyone said it was because he didn't want to play Wing as to why he wanted out at St. George Illawarra. I said i believe there is a lot more to it than that. The person i work with, whose wife's niece's husband is Ryan Carr, said that Ryan said up to half the squad want out as they see it being another 3-4 years before they are a force again just due to how hard it is to attract talent and the juniors aren't much good at this stage. They like Flanno but it is going to take a while.

Lomax also might be happy to play Wing for now with a chance to play Fullback.

If he is happy to play Wing, then that balances out our backline with Talagi fitting in at either Fullback or Centre.

      • With how dragons are using him atm, he gets to roam in field as well. If you give him that license to pop up across the field I like it.

      • Almost makes you not want to go after any St George players though. If they want out I mean, for the reason mentioned. I can understand why but I also don't like how a player would want to leave the club because it's too hard to stay. It's those little 1% things that can make a great team. Though I wouldn't say no to Sua.

    • GUTHO will make a fine hooker. That is one of our weakest position. Whenever he goes into dummy half, defenders shit themselves. With his age, loosing a bit of pace and can be easily play 80min, he would be a sensation! Leave Talagi in fullback and develop the kid.

      • I agree 100% but not sure BA sees it that way.

  • Bailey - Surely we can do better, is there any winger on the open market. I heard Fergo just got punted from the Kurri Kurri Bulldogs.

    • Bailey is one of our best defending backs, and our fastest... Honestly I believe he'd kill it at fullback, tall, good under the high ball, solid body and he is quick. His kick return at fullback would be one of the best in the comp if he had a chance to play there. He'd also be Edwards/Gutho like in being able to defend on the line with his speed.

      • Just a shame he cant set up a play, hold onto the ball when its wet, nor read the attacking play and throw a dummy. The football nouse is not at an acceptable standard to win a premiership.
