Watching last night, I don't believe Dylan is anywhere the level he was attaining.

Whether it is the ACL tear (definitely lost pace) but his body language showed to me in pre and post game interviews he doesn't want to go anywhere. I think he sees Parra is home and whilst no one can complain for him taking the 13m, I wonder if he will ever be happy in the Knights wilderness.

I have always been a DB fan, but I also think we burn't him out in the last 2 seasons and confused his role in the process.

I now see DB as a 600pa player and if he maintained his original potential say 800k. i.e my implication is he has lost 25% as a player.

WE have most probably won the jackpot as I think we have seen the best of him whereas I question his future now. I would be surprised if he retains his NZ Test status when you look at the Warriors and their young half.

Watching his current game he is missing tackles, whereas previously he hardly missed a thing. He has also lost confidence in the line, doesn't know or understand his role by the rules that made him recognised in the first place.

We are very lucky and whilst it has been said repeatedly, I cannot believe how dumb the Knights are as he will never be the play maker they have signed for. O'Sullivan has a lot to answer for!

  • Brown doesn't appear a natural passer or kicker

Remember Hindmarsh 1st year attacking then ten years of tackling

    Hookers in the wrong bodies

    • DBrown is among the top playmakers, ranking joint third in the league for try assists in 2024,

      • Here's a good example of statistics and lies Tad.

I love DB but he is not a play maker but those stats reflect the fact with Moses out best part of the season, we had no one else to be a play maker. Joint third in try assists is meaningless when you run second last! It actually tells you how bad we were and IMO has been the single biggest reason for his loss of confidence.

Take note Tad, statistics can be manipulated to make anyone look good....how do you think Labour won the election....good management? or poor management from the opposition?

        • Lots of variables in stats Poppa which don't tell the whole story. Sometimes players may use that as a guide about how their playing style is working. We are playing a different style which probably suits ball movement styles..  Interesting how Gould has influenced Bulldogs . with Panthers players in such a short time.. Not sure if players or coaching teamwork with good players is the biggest factor in getting results.. I come to the point I mention a lot . Good players in poor teamwork teams is not a winning formula. Look at how many key players were missing in the Bulldogs side and how they beat a side like Rooster last night.

Dumping good players who don't perform in a poorly teamwork coached side is usually a good cover for a coach. I think Ryles is doing great but still has room for improvement if he is humble enough to explore his coaching kit

      • Brown had 1 try assist in 2021, 8 in 2022. 15 in 2023, 24 in 2024 (Hunt had 30 in 2024 , Drinkwater had 26 ,and Gerome Hughes had 24 equal with Brown,) 2025 Brown has had 5 .

        • Yeah, but throwing a regulation pass to Sivo who then either strolled across unopposed or bashed thru 3 guys counts as a try assist.

          No playmaker duty involved.

    • The problem with DB is he is not a true half or 5/8. Whilst young, he has managed to get away with his physical strength and speed. Most 'experts' will tell you he's a running 5/8 based on what he has shown so far. I beg to differ.

Unless he starts to hone his craft as a half (be smarter, more creative, game management and a much better kicking game), then I fear we have already seen the best of DB. I don't believe DB has the 'smarts' to improve in any of these essential halves attributes. The way he plays, he's impact will continue to decline as he ages and the occasional injuries that comes with the game. We are already witnessing this.

The club is lucky another dumb club is willing to take him off our hands. The challenge for Parra is to now find a natural no.6. Perhaps a gifted young kid with a brain to excel in the halves.

  •  trannies but different

  • Newcastle need someone who can steer the ship, but Dylan couldn't kick a tyre downhill. What were they thinking seriously lol
