Could ol Bushy Do to the Perth Bears what Ron Barassi did at South Melbourne AKA Sydney Swans. I guess time will tell hahaha ..(Jokes).
TBH its great to have the Bears Back ! However filling their Roster in 1.5 years going to be tough....It was hard enough for Redcliffe which had many more advantages .....including Bennett and a strong Rugby League DNA in the club already...

Listened to V'landys today, he said "we will make sure they are successful". Apart from financial help, how do you make sure they are successful, refereeing? Bunker?.
All of the above
And if you think the NRL wasn't corrupt enough - wait until the PNG Cannibals get into the comp. They will get triple the leg-up that Melbourne currently enjoy and what Perth will get.
Can't help but feel the Kiwis deserved this before Perth. Kiwi player contribution to the NRL = 50%. Perth contribution = 0%. Perth has that big, shiny new stadium and the politiicans need to fill it.
` that big, shiny new stadium ' wont be filled by Rugby League fans outside of State Of Origin .
The home ground is up the road at Perth Oval ( HBF Park ) shared with Force and Glory .
Semantics.... The point being Perth don't deserve it and the Kiwis do.
Well the fact of the matter is Perth have a team and im fecking happy , i`ll become a member and go and watch not support them but watch .
Off the top of my head Western Australians to play Rugby League ...
Matt Peterson , Justin Poore , Mick Lubinskas ( spelling ) back in the 70`s , Corey Peterson and the Cherrington sisters grew up here too .
Since ive been living here theres always been an interest in League from the rank n file since the Reds demise and the best decision so far is using Perth Oval over the WACA or Optus for home ground and if not for Rupert the Reds may ve well still be here .
Its not about who deserves another team but growing the sport , now its up to the powers that be to get it right and make it a success .
The Warriors have had a whole country to choose from in 30 years and have done nothing with it. The only time they've been truly successful is when an Australian has been coaching them and they have had a fair share of Australian players in the squad. Not sure why NZ 'deserve' a second team with that sort of record. Just because Pacific Islands, including NZ make up a high volume of players in the NRL, doesn't mean that a majority of them are actually any good... just meat heads that couldn't get a job doing anything else.
And Perth's contribution? The Reds, that utterly failed after two years.
I've lived in perth all my life, theres been a huge increase in the interest of Rugby league here
