Refs against us making us tire in games and not being " influenced to help us"
no benefactors or TPAs in cooeee
we don't even have one friend in commentary on ANY platform ( and don't even consider Hindy - he's traded on us being a joke for his own media identity - loved him as a player but has he ever had a spray ???)
andy Raymond is the last major eels fan/ player I think apart from Sterlo
until we are in the " script" it's a sad landscape even when we have improved 110 percent with ryles
we are so up against it
pisses me off no end 🤬😞

What an amazing way for the NRL to be able to influence the outcome of games by the refs. Set restarts on the move with no ability to question, challlenge or understand. The most significant way to alter momentum in the game. Hmmm, game now associated with gambling and the head of the NRL is involved in horse racing and gambling. The game has in my opinion lost all credibility, with its associations, with sponsors, gambling and very questionable salary cap rules and application of same. Lost faith in the NRL.
It all boils down to how the nrl is classified. Is a sports competition or sports entertainment? Entertainment means it outcomes can be predetermined
Exactly
like bloody Rock n roll wrestling
the players become more about the personality / team brand than the true athletic gift and authenticity about winning on merit 🤔
to me anyway
and the more 10 minute bloody monologues I see on fox or ch 9 the more I believe it
I agree with the sentiment about corruption but that didn't cause the errors today by Hopgood, Penisini, Williams, etc etc.
We made 16 errors including 12 handling errors, quite often coming out of our own end.
We averaged 33 metres per set, and given we were starting every set near our own line we couldn't get out of our half. We had 6 offloads, they had 16.
All we could do was bomb to Montoya at the end of each set.
Players got beaten one on one in defence multiple times.
It's disingenuous to blame the Ref.
True it doesnt.
what about the calls the ref missed? How many forward passes went unchecked? Flopping on players in tackles?
Hell even at half time Cronk was saying Moses milked the penalty against Kikau. You cant say bias doesnt creep in and that it doesn't lead to influence.
End of the day, success breeds positivity in every aspect. This includes commentary. You never hear anything negative said about the Eels 80's era.
If Eels turn it around the tone of the commentary will change. I didn't think Brandy was too bad today, though he obviously slipped up and showed his true colours on that last play. Vossy always has his head up the arse of the team on top.
