Buderus rated Liddle the best hooker in the game when he started but he kept getting injured and played for the tigers and now Saints which has slowed his progression.
Now he is getting consistent game time he is showing some of what Buderus was talking about years ago and due to so little games over his first 5 years doesn't have much wear and tear.
I think Riley Smith has a place in the team as he still very young and probably wasn't even expecting to play off the bench this year. In Tandem with Liddle they could go well as long as we fix our forward pack. Tuivati will help our go forward but I really hope Ryles can overcome the clubs major problem of attracting quality players.
I really rate liddle. Craved us up years ago. A lot of good hookers and a lot of good fullbacks. JR said in the presser his still reshaping the roster.
I would have no issue in getting Liddle. He turns 30 next year so he is not technically the future but until Coinakis is ready why not?
