No friends - just foes

Refs against us making us tire in games and not being " influenced to help us"

no benefactors or TPAs in cooeee

we don't even have one friend in commentary on ANY platform ( and don't even consider Hindy - he's traded on us being a joke for his own media identity - loved him as a player but has he ever had a spray ???)

andy Raymond is the last major eels fan/ player  I think apart from Sterlo

until we are in the " script" it's a sad landscape even when we have improved 110 percent with ryles

we are so up against it

pisses me off no end 🤬😞

  • We tend to forget the game is barely just the deciding factor. Many games are decided on the script written especially by the media. The Dogs having Gus has been a major factor in their dominance this year. The Eels have never had a big name personality involved in the club, it's quite sad at times.

  • Sadly I agree. It's hard to watch games with the sound on. Commentators blowing the opposition constantly. Nrl 360 have headline that Galvin delivered tonight 😆

  • It's very frustrating Carlo, but maybe the only thing that will change the narrative is us?

It was a huge achievement to go into half time 12-12, against possession, the crowd, the officiating, we were against it all, yet fought hard to go in even.

Then, to come out and gift a team as clinical as the Dogs more & more ball by error after error, it's just not good enough.

Our defence is incredible, it's top 4, our ability to hold the football is bottom 4.

I know fatigue plays its part in errors & it just snowballs, but some of the errors truly are reserve grade standard.

Until they stop we give the media outlets all the fuel they need.

Agree with you 100%, just want to see us stop playing to their script? So to speak.

The Dogs are well ahead of us in the rebuild & our direction is obviously great, it's just hard watching the same mistakes still happening 14 rounds in.

      • Agree NOS its a minor victory we kept in touch with them for so long- we are at totally different stages of development etc I think we are well ahead of schedule but we need 2 experienced nonsense middle forwards +;Russell is liability and should be a starting centre.  Riley misdirected pass cost us early, the amount of easy metres the dogs racked up really hurt us.
      • Absolutely, Mick.

The defensive improvement is incredible, but, the roster needs work & noticed Ryles mentioned it in the presser? Which is rare. I hope the R&R team can get him what he needs because he's clearly having an impact.

The Dogs were very good too, a bit Panthers like, methodical & patient, as you said, they're at a different stage.

        • To be honest Nos I wasn't impressed with the dogs performance,  of I'm biased but their try was from intercept- the dogs had so much possession and threw a heap at us earlier with not much success. I'm certain they will not win this GF, I believe if they played the Warriors in the final game of the year they be belted in the middle and the scoreboard

  • Braith on 360 is fairly positive about us, you can see all the good things in our game but we just don't have the class of players needed to dominate games. Who we sign for next season will be important

    • And all 4 of them pretty much said that we can't attract players and nobody wants to play for us.

It's time we punt some officials , hire Ben Ikin or something for fucks sake. Pay him whatever it takes,  and get some kind of respect from the NRL circles. Or are we thinking our big centre of eggs will make players queue up to sign up ?

      • Way to attract players is play good footy and climb the ladder, we will have the money but we have to get players interested in joining the club

        • That didn't seem to work in 20-21-22.

"yeah kids and the family can do that for sure. In 2023 Jarryd actually had 3 kids to his wife. My wife and I are friends with a couple of ex Eels that live up here and they were saying that Jarryd actually has 5 kids now. I was surprised at that.…"
