Lachlan Galvin immediate release

The Wests Tigers are set to allow Lachlan Galvin to negotiate with rival clubs before the November 1 free agency period, but only under certain conditions. These include him reconsidering legal action against the club over bullying allegations and agreeing to a transfer fee. The club’s board wants to resolve the issue, while CEO Shane Richardson is seeking a positive outcome but d

  • The Dogs right now doesnt make sense.

You know why the media has drawn the connection .. You also know theyre very much focused on the now. Right now the Eels are 2nd last and the Dogs are 1st. Its really easy for them to say Dogs are a team that are well coached and great development and Parra are struggling. They dont dig deeper than that  - especaially peanuts like Hooper.

Galvin is a 19yr old kid... very raw. Theres a tonne of mistakes in his game , his defence isn't yet rock solid... Theyre all things you would imagine he'll put work into and develop - much like we're doing with Iongi , Ryley Smith and co... mentally he's not the finished product, maturity wise hes not the finished product. .. and these media idiots think he's going to rock into the halves at a contending club and be an asset.  Long term he would , but so will Mitchell Woods who theyve already got on the books, wont have to pay a mint for and is developing in their system. It doesn't make sense.

It doesn't make sense to pair Galvin and Burton and I cant imagine he goes there to be a 13 with defensive issues. Galvin is very much a developing player . If he puts his head down and wants it bad enough he can be a very good player. Really, coming in with Mitch Moses and developing at the same age as the rest of our spine with Nathan Brown is probably a better option than walking into a Dogs team further a long in the process who youre not ready to steer to a title. Time will tell , but I think Gus might not be talking out his ass with this one. Leaving the door opens means Parra can bid against their imaginary offers. I could be wrong but I dont see him to Dogs at the moment.

Aside from that culturally the Dogs arent going to punt one of their own mid year and bring in a guy who has to earn his reputation back through dedication and commitment. Its not how theyre currently built. We're probably a club who he gradually build his game with the help of a rep half ... Dogs he's expected to slot in and help them contend now. Hes not there yet.

    • Fantastic post Snottie and I fully agree - not that you need my endorsement.

  • I suspect the Dog's will get him just cause I'm used to disappointment.

I hope he ends with us.

Imagine if the Dogs get him then release Burton we get Burton and Brown goes to the knights.

    Or

    Galvin just signs with us.

  • If we miss out I'm not too fussed.

We want players who want to play for us not a last resort option.

If we have to go after someone else id go for Sanden Smith. They guys improved out of sight.

    • Has a lot of talent and a fairly low error rate.

If Gus snipes us we should be making some enquiries.

    • That sneaky fucker is up to something.

  • Too much focus on Galvin. Sounds like he is the only option for success on the table. The focus should be on how the whole works not on an individual for success.

    • So true. Look at the 'next man up' attitude we saw on Friday night. We are finally starting to look like a system on the field that works. Now we just need Head Office to follow suit

      • I wouldn't have minded Galvin. For me the "system" is more productive than the individual.
