There is a rumour getting around that Junior Paulo will retire at the end of the year!
We have heard, been sent it by about 50 different people and there has been all different reasons stated. Stress fractures in his feet is a popular one, other health concerns, body failing him to name some.
Look nothing is confirmed yet in regards to this. I was hoping there would be some kind of announcements in the weeks I have known about it but still nothing.
Make of it what you will but the noise is getting louder

Exactly his form has been up n down but there's still some juice there.
I also want him round for at least another year or 2 because we lack experience in the middle of the park and we are bringing our next crop of youngsters behind him.I think the real value junior brings is behind the scenes that us fans don't see.
I'd be pretty shocked if he just gave up a 950k annual salary for a sore toe .
If he did I'd take back every bad word I've ever said about him and put him into the ultimate clubman category . Unless of course the clubs managed to find him an after football cushy job in exchange for him hanging the boots up .
Where is this rumour coming from? Some Virgin that runs a instergram page?
Junior is passed it in the NRL but could easily get a few years in super league if he wants.
That would be sad, but understandable. We'll see what transpires. Mind you, I don't believe much of what they say about Parra. More likely just clickbat.
I don't reckon he will retire this year. He is playing better footy this year compared to last year. I can't see him playing beyond next year though. I don't want us to target a huge name prop. I'm be looking to sign Bullemore or Kurtis Morrin for some impact of the bench and target a bigger name 2nd rower like KPP or Fafita.
I do think by next year Williams and Tuivati will be a really good starting combination. Then a signing Morreti, Mataele, Brown, Pryke, Doorey, Neemia and even Matto is a good middle rotation to work with. On top of Walker and Hopgood.
Our back 5 do a lot of yardage work. So, imo we don't need to have big overpriced front rowers on the books.
I think hes doing himself a disservice.
He hasnt been his best in about 3 years we can all agree, for whatever reason, and there are plenty.
The solution
Half his salary,
Give him more rest during the week.
Releave him of all captancy duties.
Hes overtrying.
Paulo has been my favourite for years but hes ageing, and thats fine and fair.
Hes played the hardest position in the worlds hardest sport and carried our forward pack for years.
Its a sacrafice hes made for the club.
I dont think we should lose Paulo.
He could be a decent bench forward for another 2 years.
There is NO NEED to get rid of him and hes deserved to play out his career.....on half the salary now.
Just like George Burgess late in his career.
Since when did you start posting reasonable opinions?
You must be taking your Anti-Arsehole meds!....Good stuff
All the experts blew their load at Payne Haas and his stats as if he would be the stand out for years to come. Now we see players like Fonua Blake and Terrell May playing similar minutes with just as much impact if not more. Sports science is changing and abilities of big players in the middle has changed and there will be plenty more about to make the grade with similar skills and endurance.
As well a having young mobile forwards with endurance, teams need impact forwards and with 6 interchanges, it allows for players like Paulo on the bench. His offload ability and ball running when he is committed is great and would be good for quality 30-40mins or so a game over many of our error riddled kids for at least another year. The young Samoan kids also look up to him, so think he worth keeping for 1 more year even at overs he is on as a senior leader for fowards
