If Papali’i does come

So if the rumours are true that Papali'i is on his way back here, how does our bench line-up. RCG, Paulo, Hopgood and Lane play big minutes, so will Papali'i. Matterson will also. But it'll be a bench of Cartwright, Matterson, Greig and Ofahengaue (Ofa is on decent coin so he will be playing, I think he will have a good 2024)

But is it too congested? I think we need a Hooker on the bench at least but a bench like that would be really good too.

Or we release a player, Matterson being the only one I think that would happen to, leaves a bench of Cartwright, Greig and Ofahengaue as our middle options, I don't think Cartwright suits that role, yet he shouldn't start over Papali'i as I see Papa as better than Carty.

Never a mistake to add talent but don't want congestion either

    • We have Lane, Carty, Doorey, Davey and Matto who can play on the edge. Plus Guymer and Brazel are really promising juniors coming through who could be ready for first grade by late 2024/start 2025. Personally I don't want Papa in the middle when we have Greig, paulo, RCG, Hopgood, matto, ofa, maka, Ogden, Moretti and than Tuivita and JBBM coming through the grades rapidly. Papa will just be a waste of salary cap space without addressing the problems that contributed to derailing our season (not fullback or halfback back up. Only two hookers rn if JH retires. No depth in the wing and centre)

      • Perfect response EA.

      • No waste if he is better than most
