Tonight we see two injury plagued teams go head to head at Commbank Stadium in the Eels vs the Broncos. Both starting halfbacks will be missing and the Eel's best this year in King Gutho. The Eels are coming off the bye and should be up for this game..., should be.
Carty is back and most interesting will be to see how Talagi goes after extending with the Eels and in the fullback position. Look for BA to have his contract extended by 5 years if we get up.

We've been in shocking form, the weather was bad, we were playing one of the top sides with one of the fastest backlines, and we were without our two most pivotal players.
Losing is still lousy, but I think we all expected to get absolutely flogged. This was a better outcome than most (including the betting markets) expected.
Totally agree Carlo-I can't ever remember feeling positive after a loss but I did with this one. Lane needs to go-his linespeed is atrocious and has been for some time but the rest of them looked a whole lot more positive. Some poor execution and long range tries off our errors killed us but great effort tonight
This is a strange take because of how many mistakes he's made, but I think we need to keep Talagi at FB. Lots of mistakes, but also lots of chances.
He is over trying his hand, kid has heart and talent, simply needs more game time to improve his confidence. I hope he stays.

Not strange Cap... I think he is getting over-hyped big time and Brad is not helping... but there is something there. Tonight we had some speed and step and zip from fullback... which we don't have with Guth. It's also something we desperately need.
I'd leave him as well in the 1... which is fine until Guth is back but what then? This year we could let him stay put and Guth to centres... ok. Next year... what then? That's the hard decision. Penis and Zac will be centres so where does Guth go? Is it time to be like the Roosters and Storm etc and move him on? Might be harsh... but it also might be the grown up decision.

I could live with Simmo on a wing, piss Sivo off, piss Lame off... get a decent winger and our backs are looking ok. Then maybe a steady shift from the collision based do everything middle big units to more mobile e.g like Carrigan tonight... like Angus Crichton on the edge instead of Lame etc... then we're looking good...
just put gutho on the wing next year, hes also probably a better 9 then the current 2 plodders
