Tonight we see two injury plagued teams go head to head at Commbank Stadium in the Eels vs the Broncos. Both starting halfbacks will be missing and the Eel's best this year in King Gutho. The Eels are coming off the bye and should be up for this game..., should be.
Carty is back and most interesting will be to see how Talagi goes after extending with the Eels and in the fullback position. Look for BA to have his contract extended by 5 years if we get up.

The greatest NRL Coach in history is available for 2025. I can't believe were persisting even one more day with BA given he's in his 11th year and our season is basically over. It is THE most obvious play to make yet here we are sitting on our hands waiting for a miracle. I'm a practical person and I can't stand ineffective, corporate style management.

Nah you want Talagi at fullback and not in the defensive line. Want him to make as little tackles as possible given his shit defence. Staggs or Cobbo would keep running through him.
So any line break is a certain try if you are relying on talagi as last line of defence, every broncos bomb is likely to be dropped or not even attempted to be caught, any grubber kick into the in goal is going to be a negative play for the eels as talagi will likely be out of position and our defence is relying on a rookie who has two games of reserve grade experience at fullback organising it.

He is much better under the high ball than what you saw in the trials. He improved their in the couple games he played their at cup.
your line break logic doesn't mean much. You say ur last line of defence isn't there if he is at fullback. Well you won't have as many line breaks with him at fullback than him at centre. Last week he played 5/8 in cup and a couple times players were just running through him so easily. So imagine what broncos outside backs would do to him. Just try prevent the line breaks in general rather than relying on ur last line of defence. That seems more logical lol
p.s please don't think I am fan boying him. I have been critical of him and said openly he should not play FG again this year until he gets another off season in the gym to improve his built and speed. I am just giving my opinion from all the reserve grade games I have seen too.
I find this so annoying, why was he playing 5/8 in reserve grade when the coach sees him as a fullback?, if his future is fullback than bloody well play him at fullback in reserve grade.
I hope you are right about him under the high ball, if not than he simply shouldn't be at fullback full stop.
