Gallen back to take on the Eels

http://www.sharks.com.au/default.aspx?s=newsdisplay&id=18885The long-awaited return of Paul Gallen becomes a reality on Sunday, with the inspirational back rower all-but certain to play against the Eels in his first game in over a month.Sidelined with a deep bone bruising to his right shoulder, Gallen has frustratingly missed three matches for the Sharks, as well as State of Origin 3 for NSW due to the injury and is fired up for his return to the field this weekend.Gallen would only need to get through the teams final training session on Saturday morning and will then be cleared to tackle the resurgent Eels.A former Parramatta junior, shunned by the Eels hierarchy and development personnel when coming through the younger grades, Gallen would like nothing better than to rain on their parade and put a halt to their late run towards a semi final berth. While there was good news on Gallen, the downside was the fact that young front rower Johnny Mannah has succumbed to a rib injury and is likely to be out of action for up to three weeks. The withdrawal of the young Shark sees the postponement of the second Mannah v Mannah matchup, with Johnny’s brother Tim a member of the Eels team for Sunday’s clash.Other than the loss of Mannah and the inclusion of Gallen, the Sharks are as per the team selected on Tuesday, with Blake Green into the side in place of Trent Barrett who will miss the remainder of the year after suffering a fractured cheekbone and eye socket.Winner of their last two matches, over premiership contenders the Storm and Bulldogs, the Eels will arrive at Toyota Stadium on Sunday on something of a high and intent on some form of revenge after going down to the Sharks earlier this season. The Eels will obviously look to the NRL’s form player in fullback Jarryd Hayne once again for their attacking inspiration, while the hardworking pack, led by Nathan Hindmarsh, will present a challenge for the Sharks forwards.Despite being at home, the Sharks will go into Sunday’s match as decided underdogs, receiving 6.5 points start on FootyTab.

"He has not kicked on...as a centre probably the worst defensive centre in the league.  Doesnt have hands or a pass....just cant see him progressing actually he is almost as bad as Sean Russell"
