Eels V Manly 3-2-1

What a game, one of our best this year. I found it hard to leave Junior , Rylie Smith (55 tackles and pressure on kicker) and Samrani out. But they were huge.

My picks go to

3 Points - Dean Hawkins - Stepped up  to lead the team around when others didn't.Kicking on point and 4 try assists. 635 kicking metres, 20 tackles and 2 line break assists.

2 Points- Iongi -  How good was he with speed, popping up on the edge causing havoc and his bomb difusuals were some of the best. Ran for 264 metres, 1 try, 70 post contact metres, zero missed tackles.

1 Point - Williams - what a workhorse, played 73minutes in the middle, 195m with 18 hitups, 79 post contact metres, 32 tackles.

Great all round team effort by all players and coaches.

  • 3 I'd like to give it to our starting foward pack which kept us in the grind that is so key for us.

2 while Hawkins was great with his kicking game and try assists Dylan Walker is the difference for us at the moment. It's why I gave the pack 3 because when Walker comes on the game loosens up and his run pass options connecting the edges and outsides comes to the fore and against tiring defenses it's killer.

1.Iongi he's a playa his high ball diffusal and his injection turning up in the middle is the next evolution of this attack.Defensively he's doing a fantastic job with the numbers too we aren't getting caught short and his positional play and energy is infectious.

  • I think the difference last night verses earlier in the year without Moses was Walker, without a doubt. He just brings so much energy to the middle. A few more big wins and we are back this season. We need to believe.

  • Like how the coach is adaptive and molds his game plan around his player's strengths

"Exactly. Or get Galvin to play 5/8 initially, then move him to the back row in a few seasons, when Twiddle or Talataina are ready..."

"I'm trusting in Ryles in whatever he wants to do regarding Galvin.  Ryles knows the style he wants to play and whether Galvin fits into his system.
Ryles isn't going to pay overs aswell and he won't be entering into any 10 year deal.
