DOES PARRAMATTA ACTUALLY NEED GALVIN?

I actually hope Parramatta don't get Galvin as what he will cost does not match the talent he will bring.

Between Longi and Papalia we have a 6 and a 1 who will take far less money out of the cap and  if I had to choose between Galvin as a player and Longi as player id take Longi 100% , this kid is all class in everything he does.

Galvin has proved zero and to pay a kid 700k + who has done zero is a huge risk because he could easily become another Dylan Brown , Parramatta need to stop paying big dollars for potential because as a club we have had no luck in this department. We need at least one top shelf centre and a few top shelf to medium shelf forwards and not a kid who has proven very little .

History has shown for decades that Parramatta do not have much luck when it comes to paying big money for players from others clubs , Parramatta have  succees when they develop their own juniors or buy good young players from others clubs on the cheap end develop them.

Galvin is a 400k player at best and not a cent more , Parramatta need to get back to what has given them success in the past and paying big money for purely potential has failed most of the time for Parramatta .

  • I think the best club for Galvin to actually grow as a footy player is Parra. He lines up with the age of the rest of our spine (not Moses) and we also have a lot of other young guns coming along well. Moses can mentor him and he can basically be the face of the club for the next decade. That's how I see it. Or go to the dogs where they don't even want him and get blamed when the team gets smoked by the Storm in finals lol

  • I want him I see him as a long term answer in the halves or a running 13 down the track once he fills out his frame. He's going to be a gun player and I hope it's with us.

    • That's what everyone said about Dylan Brown when Parramatta payed him massive overs based on potential.

      • Every player is based on potential when there young Frankie.

Newcastle gave DB 10 years and 14 mill

Parra gave him 8 yrs and $X

See if we don't someone else will this isn't a sit on the fence exercise. If we are to go you've got to be all in when you do.

        • Just on that what idiot would pay DB over $300k bloke is awful haha he's got them fooled!

          • 300 might be a stretch , but you're correct, He's literally got every person in the country other than O'Sullivan some idiot that signed off on it  scratching their heads.  I'd be checking Sullys bank accounts for a sneaky kickback from Browns manager. Browns a 500k player at absaloute best. Ben Roberts without the errors.

I'm still pinching myself that Newcastle saved our arses.

      • Correct Fong. But at least with Galvin he seems to have a far better chance of reaching his , he is leaps and bounds in front of Brown at the same age, and going by the YouTube vids he posted as a kid , he's worked his arse of to get where he is. Any kid that was filming himself practicing in his garage throwing passes by himself is the kind of kid I'd back to keep getting better.  I'd back a kid like that every day of the week over a kid like Brown or Hayne who were gifted a bunch of natural talent and could stroll into every rep team without breaking a sweat .

Hayne at least has his ego to push him , Brown just seems to have zero desire to get batter , he's just content with getting paid as much as possible for doing as little as possible.  I think as long as nobodies asking questions about his performances he's good. A couple of years back when he was on the radar for underperforming he pushed himself until he was off the radar again. He needs a coach that's constantly challenging him.

Galvin has only played 30 NRL games. The comparison between Brown and Galvin after 30 games is huge. If Galvin continues to improve at the same rate he has so far, in 3 years time he will be way above Brown.  Potentially,  an investment in Galvin has more upside than with Brown, in my opinion.

        • Browns played 100 games more than him now . If you'd just arrived and knew nothing about Rugby league or said players , would you be able to pick it?  In my opinion you'd be doing it tough to work out which one was the 30 game rookie and which one was the games 13 million dollar " megastar "

    • Nah, better options around. He will be a good NRL player but nothing special.
