Well done Jason Ryles.

We are getting better in a short amount of time, with a big roster turnover, a team full of youngsters and a massive amount of salary cap space available in 2026. Personally, I couldn't ask for more in his first season.

*Side note, the game now due to the rule changes and officiating is so hard to follow and want to watch. It's now beyond a joke. I don't watch any other games these days except for the eels. The Simmonson penalty says it all and the reason why.

Have a good weekend ✌️

  • He is doing a good job and starting to look like he can coach.

To think there were people on this site declaring he couldn't coach after the first 2-3 games was hilarious.  It was way too early,  and still is, to make a call either way.

    • You mentioned Iongi before but in actual fact it's the team as a whole. There's just to many errors at crucial times and the worst part they do it at the wrong end of the park in every game and have done it all year.

Discipline and individuals taking responsibility for there action has to improve..

  • Samrani needs some fitness but man to make 15 tackles not a single miss and to be peppered on an edge when you have only played 2 games on the edge in Cup in your 3rd NRL game. Samrani could be the back-rower we are looking for. Again needs some strength and a full pre-season but keep him on the bench for the rest of the year and grow him into that spot for 2026.

But yes Ryles is starting to show his style, dumb penalties but at same time we are a young team, one of the youngest in the comp. Iongi had a bad drop but will improve in time.

    • I only said Samrani being a rookie in my first rookie report before a ball was kicked this season.

      • He has the makings of a class back-rower. Size, speed and defence.

      • Was a great call, EA.

Thought he looked really good in his first outting. Covered the inside space really well as he obviously has a bit more lateral movement & speed than other edge backrowers.

Can put a hit on too, drives in hard with his shoulder.

        • Yep literally some of the characteristics I mentioned in the rookie report. His lateral movement isn't good enough at centre but is great for a backrower. He runs great lines and is strong through the hips which gives him that tackle busting ability. In contact in defence he is strong

          • You nailed it.

Lets hope he can develop there because he has the attributes.

  • Ryles has done a great job in a very short amount of time with a very young and somewhat inexperienced side.

I hope Ryles and the Eels board look at Junior Nsemba to add to the Eels forward pack as that is where we need a little more grunt. Him, Galvin and an up and coming, or at least young prop, and the Eels have a very good side.

    • We cant get him. He is signed till 2029. Said he wants to be loyal  to Wigan. No NRL get out clauses. So the next option is KPP and develop Samrani/Latu
