  • IF the Dogs have landed him this stinks on a few levels.

Gus using his influence in the media to talk up a player at another club while behind the scenes using a proxy to encourage him to break his current contract.

The fact two clubs have offered more money setting his value only for the dogs to get him at a discounted price.

The dogs payed overs for 4 premiership players in Chricton, kikau, Burton and Salmon from another club , payed overs to get a GF player in Mahoney to the club also buying Tracey, Taffe , Tupouniua, Sexton ,Mann and Xerri from outside their systems forced to pay more.

Something certainly is off at Belmore and other clubs would be furious.

The NRL is a joke at times, this if true has a stench and a half.

  • Surely this is the end of MON? A kid who grew up wanting to be an Eel, whose family are massive Eels fans, we had heaps of cap room, and a vacant 6 jersey. If you couldn't get this done you're kidding yourself. Time to move on.

    • I haven't been this blunt before, but if MON survives this I've officially lost faith in Jim and his ability to make hard decisions and he also needs to go.

My strong preference would be for MON to step aside immediately and for Jim to stay on and for us to find the right model for a Head of Football/GM/R&R structure and then find the right amazing candidate.

But if MON holds his position then Jim sadly needs to go.

If we don't fix our R&R we will not win a premiership. Doesn't matter if Ryles ends up being a perfect coach.

    • Ryles put  the line through the sand he won't be paying overs

  • Was the reported offer from the dogs including TPAs, or has Laundy topped that up considerably?

    • Seriously does anyone need to answer that? We all know Laundy is the reason and not Gus.

    • Doesn't matter who pays, if it's a part of the inducement to come to the club then it's counted in the salary cap.

  • Ryles is going to be a great coach just unlucky his in year 1 compared to year 3 with Ciraldo who has time to change the team. Remember dogs were dreadful first year with Ciraldo.

Until MON is our R&R head, nothing ingenious will come out.
Hope Sarantinos or whoever is responsible for him should wake up.
