Preston would be great as well on peanuts this year but should get a sizeable upgrade I doubt the dogs could afford
Well that is who Canterbury are trying to offload cap space to sign. Preston will replace Martin as the rep level back-rower for both NSW and Australia.
No way Phil Gould will let Preston go, he loves him, unfortunately.
He's never met him .
Hahaha yeah as he describes how 'tall he is in person'.
Rumour has it he has never met Ciraldo.
I'd believe it , Cirros probably too old for him.
LB, I'm with you, think it might be Curran which honestly don't really love.
Good player, but he's very much in the Hopgood mould for mine, he's not an edge these days & is more lock / front row.
Unless Ryles see's him going into that rotation & Williams remains on an edge?
But, in Ryles we trust, he hasn't got one wrong so far & who knows, could be someone different.
I agree, NOS. I think Curran is a good player, handy and a hard-worker. Got that mongrel in him too. Only thing is he is just that standard of good to great. He wont make any rep teams and is getting closer to 30. Curran can play edge if needed but is not very agile.
If Curran is announced as a signing i would be fine with it, good player. But i would also be a bit meh as i feel we should go the route of either signing a star like Preston for example on the edge or just move forward with young kids. I understand the approach of Garner as experience for two years then new back-rower comes in.
Couldn't agree more, well put. See how this one plays out, hopefully we are wrong.
