  • It is confusing as Anasta did say we wanted long term deal, then said originally it was always meant to be a loan. I would take a lot of what Anasta says about Pezet's ability with a grain of salt. What is he going to say? "Brisbane signed an average talent long term but i thought you beauty we fleeced them and Parramatta?" No he is going to over talk about his client.

Now if we actually wanted a 3 year deal and just settled for one being beat out, not good. But if it was we looked at long term then the juniors came along quite nicely and Ryles felt good about them to only want a loan then so be it. Hawkins gone, Pezet could be a better option to win more games if Moses misses some time.

But then 2027 we are back to square one with Moses replacement. But we were in that boat with Hawkins anyway as he was only signed til 2026.

I don't know i am not as pissed about it as i was yesterday, i do not know how to feel about it. There are many ways of thinking. Ryles has a good track record of signings. The kids are looking good and are going to be given time to get ready on their own accord. But also some have said Ryles is helping his mates out, it is a bit left field thinking but can happen.

Then there is the hypocritical nature that Ryles is all about the future, wanting Parramatta people but signs a player who is off to Brisbane and led to believe preferred Brisbane. Not giving minutes to Joash who by Braith's damning explanation is not up to standard at 6. With Hawkins going it at least gives Talataina an outlet to play Cup.

But him going against the motto of building for the future and signing Pezet as he has has not sat well with me. Just my take.

    • I think the loan conversation was an earlier one - this was when Melbourne was still in the box seat to keep him long term and were open to a loan for a year because they know they'll lose half of their spine the following year.

So a loan made sense for Melbourne as it kept Pezet at the club long term but didn't inhibit his growth.

Then when Pezet decided not to stay at Melbourne the loan talk turned into a long term deal. The Broncos obviously won't have the cap space to make that deal happen until 2027, so Anasta went back to Parra and said "remember that 1 year loan...how about you still do that, but he's going to the Broncos".

It was so pathetic of us to accept this deal. We look so desperate.

  • This whole "Next Parra 5/8" debacle has left a really nasty taste of anger, frustration, humiliation and despair.

We lose Talagi because DBrown was signed on. He then decides to leave for Newie. Galvin's on the market but we can't convince him to join. We're then listed as favorites to sign Pezzet but he's only gonna stay for a season because he prefers the Broncos.

Fuck me gently with a chainsaw. If Talataina doesnt work out we're proper fucked and looking pretty stupid. Now we're told that Pezzet is back up for Mitch. Fine. He can play Cup when Mitch is available. Don't want to see him at 5/8.  Give the 6 to Joash who wants to fucking play for Parra!!!!

You have no power over a player who has less than 12 months left on his contract and who is not renewing. At my job when someone hands in their notice they are told they dont have to come in again. They get paid properly but the company doesnt want them about because 1) they are not productive 2) they fuck around 3) influence others negatively and 4) Managers can't control them.

    • These guys are pro athletes, not office workers. Their reputation is part of what motivates them.

As for Papalii, he will still be at the club in 2027. Moses will probably miss half the year so Papalii will get plenty of game time.

  • Comes across as a desperate move from Ryles and Co.

    Blaize

    Sanders

    Galvin

    Pezet

    Brown

also hearing Dylan Walker to the dogs maybe on the cards.

    • Why don't we ever get to play cards?

      • Because the person we have at the card table is Mark O'Neill and whilst everyone else is player poker he's playing Uno and wondering why he keeps losing.

        • and wondering why he keeps losing....like most mug punters, Im pretty sure he thinks he's in front. Winning!!!

    • Please tell me that we are fighting to keep walker! Arguably he single handedly gave life to our attack last year!
