Depth signing, good when he's healthy he'd be on a minimum wage I'd say.
I look at almost our whole back 5 and they all look like depth picks.
We need to grab some actual,players and difference makers.

With the outside backs though. I am happy with Kelly and Fox on the wing. But we got to get a strike left centre to help the fox out. Simmo you cannot rely on due to injuries and is a winger not a centre. Penisni we have all given up on. Samrani is developing well but other than an aerial threat, doesn't have any strike.
I see us as very limited in the back 5.
Im not happy with any of them with regards to form this year.
Actually trying to predict what they'll be next year is a coin flip at best.

Fox is a year older.
Kelly is a one trick pony physicality is about all he has there's no xfactor there.
Penisini rocks or diamonds up n down don't know what we are getting.
Simonsson can't stay on the park.
Samrani is a back rower he just doesn't know it yet.
If you ask me outside of Fox occasionally there's zero xfactor there,there's a speed deficiency also.
IMHO we need at least 2 difference makers in that back 5 to come in and add more than what we've got as we just haven't got enough to threaten teams outwide..
im hoping Christian Tuipulotu is a pisstake because he does absolutely nothing to move the needle.
Problem for Fox is we got no one that sets him up and we rarely ever kick early for him. Our favourite in Russel was there just to do his job in defence.
I agree, Samrani will be in the backrow soon. I think the club no it but due to shortage in the outside backs he is being kept there.
I personally disagree about Kelly. I think he does have x-factor to him and is a fine first choice winger with fox. Just need better centres with speed too.
Iongi hopefully is injury free next year because he did not develop this year since he could not stay on the park.
I wonder if Connor Tracey would be up for a move back to the Centers? He's a bit of a dud Fullback and the Dogs might look to offload him, but he has great hands and enough speed to create for Fox... I just can't remember what his defence was like for the sharks at center?
Fox still has good acceleration and top end speed. He's not the fastest any more but I'd suspect he's still top 6 if I had to guess. If Luai is our 6 his left foot short kicking game will make a huge difference to the Fox's try tally next year. Brian Kelly has done a great job on the wing this year and it needs to be said he's spent most of his career as a centre. If he can work on his aerial ability and top end speed in the off season I see no reason why he can't be in the top echelon of wingers.
Our centres need to better. Penisini has ability but needs to pull his finger out week in week out. Samrani and Simmonson can keep him playing for his spot. I know I keep banging on about it but throw Herbie at left centre and our backline is complete.
Samrani has been serviceable at centre but I do believe he's got backrower written all over him. His physicality is good but his speed and footwork is not good enough for centre.
it appears we may have Leniu, Luai, and Sua coming next year. That's 3 representative players which is a huge boost. 1 elite centre and we absolutely have a team that should compete at the top end
