As I do every year, I review Parramatta's season. This year it was a very tough one as a Parramatta fan. We had the worst injury toll of every club but some of the performances this year were still no doubt below the standard we want. If you want to watch the review then feel free, the link is down below. Please keep the comments respectful though.

  • Mate, you lost me when you mentioned Kelly, you said he had a couple of bad games to start the year, then he had a couple of good games. With Williams, he was our most consistent player, barring his first few games, for the rest of the year. He was by far our best back. He didn't win the Ken Thornett medal for being mediocre. The way I look at it is, we were widely tipped to make the top 8  with how we finished '25, then doing well in the pre season challenge. We lost a couple of players at the beginning of the season, then it just seemed as though we were losing another one on a weekly basis, injuries just snowballed. If we went into the season without all our i jured players, we would have been short priced favourites to win the spoon. So, to finish where we did was an achievement.

    • There was a few games though where in the comment section after the matches, comment after comment was "Get rid of Kelly please" "Kelly is shite" "Can Kelly be banned from the first grade side please". He did have some good games for us yes but I think it shows how poor the season was when Brian Kelly is voted player of the year alongside Jack Williams. It reminds me of 2013 when Darcy Lussick was given the Ken Thornett Medal, he was the best of a bad bunch.

      • That was the early rounds when he played centre. He was dropped for a couple of weeks then come back on the wing.  Since the switch he has been our best back by far. You are saying he was the best shit player in a shit backline. I think it would be best if you go and report on the pommy super league.

        • I get that comment a lot since I started my channel over six year ago. Anytime someone has a disagreement they say "Go and focus on Football" or "You know nothing about the NRL, focus of the "Pommy" Super League". I'm rarely wrong about Parramatta, I've supported them my whole life. I did mention he had some good games for us and some shite ones. I wasn't one of the fans calling him to be sacked though or dropped.

  • Forwards didn't go forward or a mistake. Penisini is only one bringing the ball back getting metres he got injured. Pezet

    • I was never sold on the Pezet signing. How can a player be fully committed or buy into what the club is doing if he's only going to be there for one year and then go to where he ultimately wants to be. It's similar to outside of Rugby League, I've worked at organisations where we've hired people who had another job lined up somewhere else that they really wanted to do, but they had to wait ages for reference checks or other things so they took a job at where I worked as a fill in spot. In my experience they were never fully invested in our company or the job we were doing, their mind was on that job they applied for down the line.

      • I was never sold on peasant as he's a poo player. 1 year signings are shit, and there's not many examples wheras a player has gone on a loan type deal for a year and killed it. TPJ was just ok , sorta .  Let's hope Luai is the exception.

DCE has done ok this year.

      • Nice rhetoric Steely but Pezet was a rookie who we paid virtually nothing for, the idea was he would be an ideal backup and give us time for young players to come through.

Pezet's problem (injuries aside) was not commitment but ABILITY, he wasn't anywhere near as good as his publicity announced. I think the Broncos would be "shitting" themselves over the prospect of his coming and paying big dollars for the experience (rumour has 750k) and then watching what Cody Black did for Canberra last week.

In your workforce example it is usual that a rookie would be paid some sort of a holding salary and if someone has to work for 12 months and doesn't demonstrate what is required that he would be let go. For all intents and purposes that is what Parra did with Pezet...... no harm done, another experience......if we had perservered with Pezet we would have blocked what Volkman ended up showing. On that basis maybe it worked???

If Pezet turns out to be a superstar then we/me have fcuked this analysis completely.

  • Pezet is no longer our problem now. He is going to that fortress of happiness, brotherhood and......Madge Maguire. Good luck- you are going to need it in that environment.
