  • Sam Tuivita is a big loss, he has been very good.

I would put Toni Matele on the bench instead of Doorey, as he is more suited to the front row, also would put Matterson on the edge over Guymer.

Papali not named in NSW cup tells me he may be a late addition to the bench.

  • That's such a depressing team. It must at minimum be a couple of million under the cap.

    • Yep bloody awful. Reminds me of 95 with the team was with Keith Blackett and co.

    • Nah mate, it's the mandated 95% of cap. It should be way under but that's not allowed.

And we wonder why players get paid overs.

If I was a manager I'd be pushing fringe and young players to  clubs down the bottom. Bigger pay day for me when they get big premiums on their actual worth.

    • Just read in Fox Sports that Cartwright is on $650K. If that is correct (big if) then MON needs to be sacked yesterday.

      • More likely backended deal

      • They also said Penisini is on 700k, which he isnt

  • I am quietly not confident in getting a win. Hopefully, we can play well and beat the Dolphins at home.

Also, I'd really like us to win an away game soon. Our away record last few years is abysmal. 6 wins 19 losses 2023 to now, with a couple of 'away' wins at CommBank.

  • Ok seeing Wyatt Raymond as ref, i have gone from defending us to now thinking Dolphins 13+ will be the case. That ghoul looking fucker screws us all the time. 1-4 we are with him. I am not one to knock refs a lot or blame them for a loss, but when he reffed us in Darwin jesus christ he was awful.

  • I finished watching the NSW Cup game against Sharks as I only watched the start of it due to the SG Ball Grand Final happening at the same time. Just a couple notes:

    • Latu was great but still has a couple things to work on in defence. He missed a couple tackles simply because he was too enthusiastic that he left his inside slightly vulnerable. Not the worst thing as he is showing he provides line speed and aggression. Just needs to learn how to control it accurately. He was willing to make tackle after tackle and still sprint back into the defensive line to be onside which is what I love to see. But understandbly he was then tired towards the end of the game because he still building his match fitness back up. It was his first game back from injury. Would not surprise me if makes a debut some time this year.
    • I am not sure how Doorey is in the FG side this week. His defence was ordinary and he was arm grabbing a bit. After watching that performance in cup it really shows how much JR wants Matto to leave. Matto was the best forward for eels on ground. We could really use him this week.
    • Papalii footwork is so silky. He is just waiting to make his FG debut. Could this be the week? Not named in cup and dolphins pack is not very big so we could afford to have a smaller bench.
    • Carty will never play FG again. He is gone back to the error prone Carty. Losing the ball. Throwing stupid offloads which results in errors. No aggression in defence.
    • Dunster still has a future in FG. Just need to cut out a couple really basic errors that he has made with the ball. But his footwork and yardage seems as good as ever.
