We coud be at least be 2 or 3 wins further up if we had some more astute work from the coach. Although many on here rave about Ryles - and personally I like him and the things he is trying to do - he is making as many rookie errors as any of the players.

What does "astute" mean? It means tactically aware, understanding weaknesses, communicating clearly and applying all the correct resources available.

One of the obvious things last night was that Ryles overplayed Moses role - we became so predictable. We need more tactical adaptibiity and creativity.

Farnsworth sat defensively on Moses when ever he went to the blindside he loves. Just about every set Moses got his hands on the ball (nothing wrong with that) but every time the variation was negligible. There had to be room for shorter kicks as well as the perenial long ones. Not once did Moses really take a run. Were there occasions he could have lifted the pace? Could Moses sometimes be used as a dummy with a point of attack coming from somewhere else?

Are we contestng the ball enough? Having your kicker back is one thing, but at no stage did we get into a position to really challenge the receiver. On the odd occasions we did, we did not contest the kick. It seems the players are under instructions to stand next to the receiver and hope he drops the ball. I do not understand this non contested kicks. The same applies with the drop outs and in some cases defensively where they allowed the attacking side to make the mistake. That's fine when it works, but bloody awful if it doesn't. Perhaps, it is in part the fear of being penalized or sin binned? It's an areas that is undermining us.

Another issue is Ryles' selections.

Matterson should have been playing last night and he would have provided a completely different drive from the "pigs". I thought Junior tried hard but he was a bit out of sorts, almost like him needing to be prodded to get moving (herding cattle). Nothing wrong with Hopgood and Williams games, they are the workers in the pack and the people on here do not understand that or more the point appreciate it.

Russell is honest as the day is long, just a second grader filling in and he stops progress by not creating anything. Does him being solid actually weaken our game?

This game was there for either team to win on the night. Unfortunately, it was a flick of the coin and we lost.

One final thing: people need to get over the constant BA bashing. The guy has gone. But it seems that anything the side does badly is laid on his shoulders. The other things we need to understand are that its fine to have plenty of money to spend, but unless the people we want want to come to Parramatta and play for us, then they won't come! Build it and they will come, selections and poor communication with players is not part of building anything. There are players in Reserve Grade that are going well that are not geting a look in, there are players in first grade that seem to being favoured, I don't no why?

                    • I don't do herd mentality.I have a projectionist mindset and add it up to what I'm seeing the issue or person/s do.

When it comes to results I'm not really that phased by them I more interested in the process and the journey to get there.Which means I don't care if I get it wrong because I know there are a lot of variables that need to be correct to see that projection become reality.

I definitely do and use this around opinions of players coaches and how we play but I use this mindset alot around my daily comings and goings also.

I'm not easily influenced especially by media outlets about the game.I like to think I'm a fairly decent critical thinker. This definitely pertains around how the club and everything behind the scenes needs to be correct for us to win.As it is now if our FO have just dumped this in JRs lap and expect him to win I think we are in trouble with that mindset.

                    • I used to watch Bill Collins Friday night Golden Years of Hollywood in the late 60,s. I used to love watching Humphrey Bogart smoke cigarettes. I used to take out a cig when he was smoking. Hmm.taking big lung drawals was difficult to do. My lungs reject them.

I don't watch commercial TV much these days.Advertising really annoys me. I watch a lot of YouTube premium which is Ad free and hopefully keeps me away from joining a another herd. The Eels site is a safe free addictive zone if you have an ab blocker

                  • Coryn, that is one of the best posts I've read on this site, mate.

                    Very refreshing.

'Imagine if being rich meant how much you give instead of how much you have.Forbes richlist I think is one of the most disgusting things I can think of.Who really gives 2 shits how many billions the richest 100 have when you have billions on the planet starving and living in slums' - perfectly said.

Humans are broken, completely disconnected, we are just too brain washed by our silicon addiction & void of individual thought to realise it.

Hopefully one day social media tells us how stupid we are, and explains step by step what to do about it, maybe then we'll change.

                    • Good blog, Pops. Fascinating discussion here NOS, Coryn, TAD, Pops and Randy.

Why do we feel such strong disgust toward "rich lists"? Like with any group, there are good and bad people among the wealthy - just as there are among those without money. Judging someone solely based on their wealth is akin to judging someone by their skin colour or religion. That said, it's probably quite common.

Some of the best people I’ve met have been both very poor and filthy rich. Many billionaires quietly help others in ways you’d never hear about or even believe to be true. If given the choice, I’d choose to be a multi-billionaire — as it gives you more opportunities to help more and those you love. That said, one major challenge for the ultra-wealthy in my experience is trust — if people like them for who they are or for what they can offer financially. Or are they a target of hate or disgust?

Yes, billions suffer from hunger and poverty, and in a wiser, more united world, we could solve that. But human nature tends to be competitive, divided, and driven by personal struggles. Everyone suffers in some way even if you aren't starving in Africa —through illness, financial stress, family issues, kid, love, work, betrayal, loneliness, or emotional pain - even supporting a team like Parra. It’s a never-ending cycle.

Mental health issues are a common-place rabbit hole of suffering — now nicely labelled under “personality disorder” umbrellas. It's why we wear masks. But the truth is, struggle in all its forms is part of being human. It's the first noble truth as the Buddhists say.

                    • The Yanks are the worst I just can't justify there capitalist mindset with regards to helping the have nots.
Theyll happily spend trillions on defense when in all essence cutting that spending and putting it back into the have nots fixing the issues internally is an after thought.

Yet they'll happily use these weapons of war plunder other countries resources as a justification for this.

Ive never understood why a lot not all have to flaunt there success why do you need to feed the machine that's my whole thing here.

Heaven forbid they bring there kids up like this with that entitlement and no work ethic and while some rich are different lifestyles for the rich and aimless is out there for all to see at the press of a button.

                    • Hey HOE,

Good points & agree its a good chat from Pops, Tad, Randy & Coryn, I've only just read it & very interesting.

Will get back to this, HOE.

                    • HOE lots of things I don't understand about the make up of some people. How many have the vibe in them, It's better to give than receive . And some like Rupert Murdoch devote their whole life and still at ninety to get more and more..The ancient Egyptians tried to hog their wealth in pyramids for their afterlife.

Not sure if endowments and gifts to charities is wanting to get something back in return

Humble anonymous donors are the ones who I would have a high regard for.

          • How does free will function correctly when you have been advertised to as a child, in this insidious, ,intergrated with the sport you love, manner?

Careful before you answer because we haven't been doing this for very long.

Horse racing exists SOLEY due to and for gambling.

This is not the case at all with rugby league, further we encourage our children to engage with  RL
