Tuilagi has secured a release from the final two seasons of his contract with the Sea Eagles to sign a two-year deal under Brad Arthur at the Eels.

The Samoan international joined Manly from the Wests Tigers in 2023, featuring in 17-games for the Sea Eagles.

However, a logjam of backrowers at the Sea Eagles, including Haumole Olakua’atu, Ben Trbojevic and Josh Schuster has led Tuilagi to link with Parramatta.

Tuilagi will provide much required depth and competition in the back row at the Eels where Shaun Lane is regarded as the only edge forward guaranteed a starting spot in Brad Arthur’s best 17.

For the Sea Eagles, Tuilagi’s exit will enable the club to create further flexibility in their salary cap.

    • We must be trying to guarentee we are bottom 4 with our latest signings.

Its clear we are on the decline while other clubs are building nicely.

      We are in big trouble

      • Have you actually taken the time to watch him play Snake, particularly his time at the Tigers ?

The kid can play, he had a few injuries this year, but there's a good player there.

        • The guy can play no doubt it's just unfortunate it's not at wing.

          • Just because we've signed a back rower doesn't mean we're not looking at other positions.

        • Brett, how do these negotiations come about before the 1/11 deadline, is it they ask the club concerned if they can speak or is it a type of off market situation where they get together and discuss players that "could" be available?

Obviously it happens, just interested how it works?

          • In this case the player would've asked for a release or Manly gave him permission to seek other options

        • Actually the information I read today is that it's far from a fait accompli that O'Neill is leaving. The Tigers approached him, not the other way round.

          • Jimmy Wong is starting to sound like one of the long term fcukwits that have hounded us for quiet a while, anyone want to guess who Jimmy Wong is?

Its not hard I bet you could get it in 3 goes because that's only three of his aliases.

Tell us why you are really on here Jimmy, you talk to Fong like he is a good friend, let me tell you even Fong doesnt tolerate pricks like you Jimmy.

            • I reckon it's Eyeballs Pops...

              • Not likely Heisen, he is in our nursing home group every Tuesday, He stopped posting about 7 years ago and has been banned ever since, he is not a Parra supporter at all and gives me heaps everytime I mention Parra.

You know me well enough Heisen, believe me when I tell you I have no aliases other than my wife who posts every blue moon under the name of Kartika.

Don't worry I dont know who voted for me either! Lol......maybe it was Sparticus!

He only loved his family and himself......he used the key players by aligning his contract negotiations with theirs. This was only done for his own benefit not theirs - although they did benefit also.
