'No Stopping The Hayne Train'

I dunno who this bloke is, but he deserves a raise. Found this article this morning in regards to Hayne's charge and nearly pissed myself reading it.Love this bit... He reckons this is the statement Gallop should have put out:"After an emergency meeting, we have decided the NRL Grand Final would flat-out SUCK without Jarryd Hayne and therefore we have piss-farted around with the charges so he can play. Furthermore, we grant him the title Earl of Parramatta, meaning he now owns all NSW lands west of Homebush. All hail."Here's the whole thing."My brother is a passionate, fairly happy and above all, relieved Eels fan. He is flying down from Brisbane to go to the grand final, providing he can pry a ticket from the cold hands of the corporate guests who call it "rugby" and only go for the prawn cocktails and free booze. He is a smart guy - a real proper scientist and all - who spent yesterday morning explaining to me the reasons Jarryd Hayne shouldn't be suspended for the grand final."You'll notice he went in slightly sideways," he surmised, "and didn't lead with the knees. Instead, they kinda swung around towards the end of his slide as if they had a life of their own. They just might, for all I know. It is Jarryd Hayne."It's unfortunate that Bryson Goodwin's cranium happened to be in the way but 'that's footy', a well-known scientific fact against which argument is futile. And what was some no-name Bulldogs winger doing launching his head at the knees of the greatest athlete of all time ever anyway? Was he trying to kill the bloke?"Compelling as the argument was, I didn't really buy it. Sliding into tackles with knees is a straight-out no-no. I have no doubt Hayne should have been given a few weeks, early plea or not, and he wouldn't have had much cause to resist. Here's the thing, though. I don't really care about the judiciary at this time of year. I want Hayne to play in the grand final. We all do. Even Cameron Smith, who in a turn of good fortune missed last year's GF, wants Hayne to play. The Sydney press has written enough pieces on Hayne that a high school subject is being created to recount his feats of 2009. The media has already interviewed every single person Hayne knows, has walked past in the street or who's shot at him for their thoughts on a man who is clearly superior to the rest of humanity in every possible way imaginable. As rugby league fans, why wouldn't we want to see his all-singing, all-dancing traveling show drop anchor at the grand final next weekend? "Justice," you say? Let me retort with: "Phhhhht".Knowing they would be accused of giving Hayne favourable treatment, the NRL went to the bother of sending out a detailed email recounting every similar charge and the resulting suspension.I would have rather seen David Gallop put out this statement: "After an emergency meeting, we have decided the NRL Grand Final would flat-out SUCK without Jarryd Hayne and therefore we have piss-farted around with the charges so he can play. Furthermore, we grant him the title Earl of Parramatta, meaning he now owns all NSW lands west of Homebush. All hail."Give the NRL all the stick you like but this time, they've made the right call. It's very difficult to put in place hard and fast rules about what constitutes a "big game" but unless someone goes all Les Boyd or Blacktown City on someone's face, common sense dictates that a lengthier appeal process or suspension of, erm, suspension be implemented if the circumstances arise. That way Issac Luke doesn't have to miss a Test, Smith doesn't have to miss a grand final and Jarryd Hayne can cement his place as the leader of the free world by leading the Eels to victory against a very good, although very annoying Melbourne Storm."http://blogs.brisbanetimes.com.au/themagicspray/archives/2009/09/my_brother_is_a.html

"Yep, that's a recipe for disaster.  With no brown next year we're a high chance of spoonville. Cant see Mitch waiting out  his prime to see if we come good. We need to turn it around fast or we'll be stuck in the doldrums for a few years. "
