Moving Forward (literally)

It was clear toeven Stevie wander we lacked forward lastnight, and with Ryles clering the decks & with the possability of JR retiringat the end of 25 or 26

WE need Forward

we need to be aggresive big forwards

who do we get ? who do we target ?

I dont think Guymer is a 2nd rower (Im not even sure he is a footballer)

Im starting to realy like Kautoga and with more football in him the better he will get

Williams i dont think is a starter

Re-sign Walker for 2 more years past his current deal

      • Guymer back to reserve grade,  Samrami 11,  Bring in a prop.

        • Even though he is raw I would start samrani at 12, we have nothing to lose really and he already looks better there than anyone else we have used this year.

        • Exactly what I am thinking. Doorey was good in his short stint

    • Wasn't the kicking game wasn't that great to be honest they threw the ball round that's what kept them in the game

  • I thought our interchanges changed the momentum in the last 2 games

  • Unfortunately when it comes to forwards off contract in 25 it's slim pickings. We may need to take a patient approach, develop from within,  then go hard in 26 as that's when the market opens up. Haas, Kolomatangi, Kikau, Whyte. The Raiders appear to have some talent & they may present good value, Hosking, Sasagi, Mariota to name a few.

    • Here's the thing, if we were planning to do that approach, and we very well could, we would have been better off keeping the likes of Matterson and convincing Lane to stay as well. But if those 2 and Paulo move on and go that route with money in the bank that we need to spend 90% of then Ryles won't have long.

Contracts can be broken and have been in the past. It can be done, but can MON and Ryles do it?

      • Asking fans to be patient is a bit rich from our current administration. We've been the most patient supporters in the game. I realise winning the GF is an enormous mountain to climb and that takes years of successful planning but we absolutely can and should expect better than bottom of the table in the interim. This squad desperately needs NRL quality in the middle and edges. They can't wait until the Harold Matt's boys are grown up, there needs to be action now, as in before June 30. 2-3 decent additions would transform this side. As you say, contracts can be broken. Dylan Walker did it, we need more.

  • I don't know if it has been mentioned yet but Talangy (sp) 4 try assists against a good side. Have we made a mistake?

    • Talagi to Papalii for the first try. FMD
No we didn't make a mistake, we have our 5/8 locked up long term. No wait...what?

"Great article! He was such a entertaining player to watch. I used to see him all the time in Bondi rolling around on his skate board. "

Mind you I think we found our 9, not sure about the 6."

"Enjoyed reading that article. Thanks for sharing Bert.
Almost forgotten about the talent around Smithy in that 2005 side. Too much to expect from a rookie half to carry that side to a title. The expectations of him must've been unbelievable.
I hope…"
