Lachlan Galvin immediate release

The Wests Tigers are set to allow Lachlan Galvin to negotiate with rival clubs before the November 1 free agency period, but only under certain conditions. These include him reconsidering legal action against the club over bullying allegations and agreeing to a transfer fee. The club’s board wants to resolve the issue, while CEO Shane Richardson is seeking a positive outcome but d

  • No chance he is going to Bulldogs, surely not. They already have a pretty good 6.

    • Let me play devil's adovocate here. Let's say the Bulldogs are interested, they already have Burton at 6, Bailey Hayward is another player they see as a future 6 or 7. On top of that they have Mitchell Woods who is a great young 7 the Bulldogs have put a lot into.

If they were to sign Galvin the first question is where would he play? Logically, he'd play 6. Galvin wants to play 6, he was playing starting 6 at the Tigers. This would mean either moving Matt Burton to 7, which he is on record saying he enjoys far less than playing 6, as it restricts his freedom OR they would need to have Galvin play 13 or off the bench. Galvin won't sign for another club to play 13, firstly he's 19, secondly he won't get a big payday from the Bulldogs being unproven in that position. Also IF they sign Galvin I can guarantee you either one or more of Burton, Hayward or Woods would ask for a release, the Bulldogs don't want to lose any of those players. Woods is about a year off first grade, Burton is established and the club is very high on Hayward.

I don't think a pursuit of Galvin even makes that much sense for the Bulldogs.

The only club that makes sense for Galvin to go to apart from Eels would be the Sydney Roosters however that is a 0% chance of happening as well given their club wide ban on Issac Moses (issued by Politis) and the fact they've seemingly signed DCE.

      • The only part that leaves me scratching my head is the part where they've stalled in re-signing Sexton.  They're obviously very open to having a totally different half there next season.  That worries me .

        • They rumours are they are interested  in dce Reynolds or luai which makes sense they need an organising half-back to go that extra step galvin doesn't add that for them right now

          • They should go for Reynolds. They have a chance to win the comp in these few years and just need that general who's proven

      • How do you know he wouldn't  sign for another club playing 13?I reckon that's the position he'll end up.The only thing stopping him playing 13 is the workload defensively but that can be improved and learnt.

The biggest thing I'm taking away from this is coaching. He's mentioned many a time he wants to go to a side where his career is going to take the biggest boost in this area. The number he wears has little to do with it imo. It's the plan the next club has for him and the first mentioned best coaching so he develops in a good environment this more so is the key.

The Dogs under Gus and co are starting to see frutition in this area more so than us.You can't rule out the Dogs regardless of what Gus is saying. He's also mentioned whatever club has Galvin will win multiple premierships with him. That comment alone tells you right there Gus has his eyes on him.

  • Until I officially get an email from club - I'm not getting excited just yet!!🤞

  • Ok guys this is from my source.....Galvin has agreed to terms with the Dogs, what got him over the line was 888 and the Queen of the Nile $1 machines.....Oh well it was exciting while it lasted.
