    • This will be the line up, BA won't throw Blaize to the wolves. Prob best 1-7 we can throw out there

  • It is absolutely appalling that this club has no ready to go back up in any key spine position.

  • Need to remember first game is against Renolyds who kicks the ball whever he wants. Plus he has a great torperdo and floating bombs. So we need a fulback alert to Renyolds kicking game and great under the high ball. Russel is horrible under the high ball. Talagi is not good either. Not sure about Asi. What about Simmo?

    • Ea do you have any theory on why they didn't persist with Martyn in Reggies?

      • No unfortunately. Dont understand the decision to not at least play him on the wing over Lumelume. He has more upside. Plus if we are fast tracking our sg ball players from last year into cup, why are we not doing it with him.

  • Seeing the young fullbacks at Dolphins and Knights last week shows our club has major deficiencies when it comes to talent identification.  Both fullbacks for the Fins and Knights were quick, elusive and loved to get involved as much as they could.  Sure there were a few errors but the excitement they generated helped the team more than the mistakes hindered them.

The storm have great fullbacks waiting in Reggies as does Penrith.  Broncos have Tristan Sailor who filled in for Walsh and played like a regular first grader Roosters have 1 of worlds best fullbacks in Manu ready to switch positions if needed and Suallii showed in world cup he would be handy NRL fulllback if Teddy is injured.  Even the Titans can choose from Brimson or Campbell and have another youngster going well in younger grades.  Doggies have Blake Taffe and Connor Tracey or option of moving Crighton to fullback.  But the best we can offer when Gutho is out is slow journeyman in Simmo or Harper, a utility in Talagi who has hardly played fullback or Russell who has had his issues with handling and poor defence.  None of them have the type of speed or skill of players named above do so what is our retention and recruitment team doing.

It comes down to they style of player BA likes.  Bigger stronger type players over speed and skill.  Also where is the arrogance of a future star.  I'm sure all the parra players mentioned are good blokes but none have the confidence and arrogance superstars of the NRL have.

"Yep it will either be Bennett or a left-field choice none of us has seriously considered. Either way it is pretty much a done deal."

"Interesting indeed.  Especially,  given I have no association with the club, not even a ticket holder (for the record).  "

"It's almost as if Bennett gets a kick out of the games, plot twists, ramping up to the climax. A super coach and puppet master.
Mind you, our board played a lot of smoke and mirror poker games.*
