Hard to feel sorry for the bloke when he goes on national tv a few weeks ago denies any interest in a player then signs him a few short weeks later. Media and fans are absolutely crushing his credibility and it's just a bad look for the game when a player takes 500k less to join the club that Gus is the head of. Pressure will firmly be on the bulldogs this season as anything less then a title will lead to a backlash

Rubbish Gould is a blatant liar. The Eels weren't "done" A liar cannot be trusted period and the NRL shouldn't allow these corrupted liars to prosper and get what they want. But we are actually building something and Ryles has been mostly upfront since the beginning of it, might be a bit old school but I like his honesty and straight up and down approach. That's how you build a culture and team. The right players will want to join us

Ryles isn't our GM of Football. DIfferent roles need different personas.
Ryles will often play a straight bat just as Ciraldo would - and they'll often just flat out not answer by saying "I'm not in control of that" or "that's not my area".
At the same time I guarantee you that Ryles and his coaching staff have lots of conversations about team succession plans, who we should target and who we should offload, and they would NOT tell those to the players until they absolutely had to.
It's all a game, we're just not playing it very well in some areas.
The main issue is he's on Tv in a media role as well, would be no problem if it's all behind the scenes but he's on national Tv lying his ass off lol. And making pitches to players who are under contract. Either get off TV or stop being the head of football for a club imo
