If we can take a positive out of the governance review, I think that maybe we can say that we've seen the end of the lunatic fringe.
I'd argue the potential for losing four points, in a year where we are genuine finals contenders, is as dire situation as we've seen in the past.
However, there are no talks of marching out the front of the Leagues Club, or holding placards up at games in protest.
Instead, we're actually having the kind of rational and robust debates that a healthy organisation needs to have about important issues about our future.
I think everyone having that debate, no matter what side of the coin you're coming from, is arguing genuinely from the point of view of what's best for the club.
I don't think I've ever gone into a year, where the coach and playing group has so much unilateral support.
This is all a VERY good thing.
For one, it means we're probably at a point, where we're going to be able to have a genuine discussion about constitutional reform, where we can put behind us the paranoia of the past. It means we can have a little more faith in the democratic process that underpins our club. Most importantly, it means we can ALL get behind a bunch of blokes who are obviously working really, really hard to bring success to our club.
It actually feels for once that we're looking forward, rather than backwards!

Phil with all due respect, after the way youve been talking about the club of late ive got no idea what your talking about here?
Pity really
As those pollies in the backbenches would say ' here here' 1eyed.
lol - Phil, have you found my stash?
This is called taking a positive aspect in a dire situation - I like it!!!
Mitch those people are still around, the lunatic fringe hasnt gone anywhere, this stuff is ingrained, they have been a bit quieter because we are assembling a good team and probably planing their next move, the calm before the storm.
Isn't the board made up of the lunatic fringe? Painting themselves in a corner over constitutional reform and daring the NRL to deduct 4 points is ridiculous. Self interest standing in the way of reform, WTF! Do we have a board full of pollies or people genuinely interested in what's best for the club? At the moment it seems like the former.
lol
...that doesn't answer the question.
While ever we continue to supply the clowns and monkeys the media circus will follow us.
However, at least we have a semblance of stability that has allowed us to build a competitive team. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
There is nothing wrong with any one who opposes the board to use the AGM or the elections to run against the current board - that's our democratic process.
If Fitzy or Roy or whoever want to use that mechanism, there's not a problem with that.
However, you have to remember that pretty much every one who opposed this board in the past has had their membership suspended/removed so can't run for like 3 or 4 years anyway.
Whoa, whoa there, stop the ride, I want to get off, i'm getting dizzy.
