GALVIN SHOCKS EELS
Lachlan Galvin’s decision to join Canterbury has gone down like a lead balloon with Sydney rivals the Eels.
Sport Confidential can reveal Parramatta bosses were supremely confident of securing Galvin and believed they had their man before being ambushed by the Bulldogs.
It is understood the Eels had tabled a multi-year, $1 million-a-season deal for Galvin to partner Mitchell Moses at the Parramatta scrumbase next year.
But the Wests Tigers young gun shocked the Eels by taking less to go to the Bulldogs.
Galvin’s management have been criticised for allegedly brainwashing the teenager but the 19-year-old made the call to reject Parramatta of his own volition.

Hector. Yes, you're right buddy - I'm just saying the policy change happened before Beach's appointment as chairman. Here is what Beach said to the media in Feb 2025:
"The first point is we haven't entered into a player contract that has an option for about two years; May 2023 was the last time we entered into a contract with a player option.
"Point two, since that time we've signed or retained 22 to 24 players since [then] without issuing player options.
"Thirdly, we will not be issuing player options going forward."
A neat 3-point summary from Beach. But many (not you) seem to kind of forget about it or dismiss it and blur timeframes.
Yeh, I think your both on the same track, just coming from different directions.
1. Mathew Beach would seem to be a good choice for Chairman and he has a brain.
2. Fong wants to sack Mon and Saratinos because someone said the Galvin deal was 1m not the 750/800. As PT pointed out that is "beard" for Gould to hide behind and has been seeded.
3. Options are not understood properly so we should not get involved. Hoe's point is valid about them being common place and its a shame that did not come out readily when being discussed in the Brown negotiations. I have explained repeatedly that we kept Brown because of the option, whereas we may have lost him 3 years ago. If we retained Brown we would have been in exactly the same position we now find ourselves in. No big deal, its worked for us in this rebuild.
4. When options are better understood their will be more of them (or they will be known by another name). Interesting Beach said at Hectors members meeting that they will not disclose clauses in contracts to the public in future (did I understand that right Bobby ?).
ie There is a subtley in that statement saying, the less you know the easier it will be and "my" further extension of that, is that fans are too fickle to understand when they are told anything.
PS The government treats the public as stupid as does business in a marketing sense. Why should sports fan's be any the wiser.
Well Said Hector, Matthew will transform our club if performance is an issue re Jim S and MON then I'm confident that would be addressed accordingly
Breaking news..we don't need Lachlan Galvin.
So what we missed out on this kid. Goodluck to him. Let's move on now see if we have some promising juniors coming through or Papa can possibly play 5/8.
lol.....who wrote this bullshit? It is a beard to protect Gus
Parramatta Tragic you are spot on PT.
This is bullshit from the Bulldogs camp trying to destabilise the club, and try and make out that players want to go there for less.
It's totally bs
More dribble by the bullshitters. Who gives a shit about galvin now. Maybe gus can groom him like he did to fittler in the penrith days 🤔
What parra need to do is come out and squash all this bullshit. Be proactive and get in front of the story for once and create a positive by even saying we never went for him etc.
Parra need to be a club that is n the front foot and tell the world that we won't be bullied or fooled (even though we were) into making shithouse decisions anymore haha. Isaac Moses get go fuck a goat as he's on par with Gould as the most deceitful person within the nrl community and needs to be held accountable
