  • Mad if we dont

  • Wouldnt hurt. Save 600k on Shaun Lane who was useless last 2 years. Wouldnt hurt to transfer that to Fifita and get the odd great game

  • If Ryles wants him I wouldn't be against it especially if it's for a realistic price of around $700k per year ($600k is nor realistic).

On another note we desperately need to sign a front rower in the next couple of weeks. Having lost rcg in the off-season,  ofa and lane as well, Grieg just can't stay off the suspension list and is shit plus the fact ryles refuses to use matterson on top of the injury to tuivaiti it is unfair to continue to send the team out without front rowers.

  • He wont leave QLD. Already been down that track with his backing out of the Roosters deal. If he won't perform for $1m a season, why would be perform for $600 or $700 K. I don't seem him fitting the culture and type of effort players Ryles clearly wants.

    • one journo said he would take unders to leave GC. Not sure how true that is.

  • I have no doubt Ryles would be interested.

One thing about Fifita that often gets lost in the narrative is he's a quality defender.

Hes big and agile , exactly the type of player Ryles would be after.

This is another  player you could possibly do a deal around his partner to play for our womens side to ease cap space burden.

If he leaves the Titans which looks likely , Parra and the Dragons would be the most likely landing spot.

    • Sorry, dont agree as per my post above.

    • True mate He is a decent defender Though maybe that's the reason why you find him out the back with his hands on his hips in attack Seriously though He's built like a brick shithouse I couldn't imagine myself running at him when he's fired up

    • Dolphins might be in that conversation also, Bup.

They'd have the cap space, you'd think? Geographically would work best for Fifita as it's hard to see how Broncs / Cowboys could accommodate him.

I could see the appeal also with the space & opportunities Katoa creates for his edges, he looks destined to be the next elite half in the game - absolute gun.

I'd love to see Fifita at the Eels, but wherever he goes could create an opportunity for Parra to jump at whoever he replaces in the starting line up.

  • He's got all the ability but as we see with some of these players, let's see if they are still putting in next season for example May as some have mentioned. NRL is a tough game and discipline is key.
Parra have given such players a go over the years and at times it works for a season but others it ends in tears.

"Smith would be able to get a run as a starter wherever he goes. I doubt he would come to Parra to be a 14."
