Hindmarsh is the greatest eel!

Whilst other eels have have had more talent, more success, more premierships.. In my opinion, Hindmarsh is the greatest Eel ever.

Would Sterling, Kenny, Price and co have been as good if they didnt have such greatness around them?

Probably, But week in and week out, hindy just proves that he is a true champion..

The way he chases down everything, puts his body on the line to save tries. Hits the ball up even when everyone else is tired... His work with the community, the NRL, charities...

Others may have had more talent... Hindy makes you feel proud to be an EEL!!!!

  • right up there somewhere hard to say different era but  true warrior legend
  • THE BEST EVER AND  THE EELS CLUB BETTER PUT A 50 FOOT HIGH STATUE OF HINDY , THE BIGGEST STATUE EVER AS A REMINDER OF HEART SPIRIT AND DETERMINATION

OR A 30 FOOT STATUE OF HIS BUTT   SO OTHER SIDES CAN KISS OUR ASSES

  • I'm still amazed every time i watch Hindy.. See him somehow chase down a player before any of our faster players, or always just happen to be the guy in the right place any time a ball comes lose or something, it's some how expected now he'll always pull that off but still surprises me every time.
  • Hindy you are a legend!!
  • TME,

I think both Hindy and Hayne would have done well in the 80s but I cannot say the same for many other NRL players.

I watched the 82 GF last week.  Waited until the second half for a hit-up.

Hindy would do well due to his ability to maintain maximum effort for so long though he would probably need to make changes due to no interchange.

Hayne would be one of the better players at dealing with the limited space available due to the 5 metre rule.  Players are now celebrated if they show any stepping skill like Benji but back in the 80s this was common place.  That is why the players were so much smaller.

These days if you are 79 kgs you are considered a runt.  There are so many great 80s players who would struggle today - the 10 metre rule made it a completely different game IMO.
