Just found out some interesting news

I ran into my old high school mate on the weekend at the shops and turns out that his younger sister married the son of Brett Kenny.

He showed me pics and said he'd try to organise a meet-up for me and Brett.

  • Bert was my favourite player growing up.
My old man absolutely loved him and as he was involved in footy circles, I did get to meet him.
They say never meet your heroes and damn that is true a lot of the time but Bert was always gracious and giving of his time.

    • I remember walking past him in Parra and he was in his sparky gear. I was maybe 9 and was in awe of the great man.

  • Where and when mate? I might just happen to be there.

    • I'm not too sure but hopefully it'll be sometime this month.

  • Make sure to use a rubber, Bert's a stud.

  • man ParraPride ,,my absolute favourite Eels player ... nice one!.

Should be an immortal I do rate him over Sterlo even though Peter got most of the individual awards

"Volkman has been rocks and diamonds. He does some good things and some shit things but he is on backup money and not signed next year.
On balance he is better value then Pezet who cant even get on the field. "

"Yeah Averillo is the first domino of the decent list of backs still available. They are running out. Another thing is Wests you could argue didn't really have a desperate need for backs and got him anyway."

"If that's the case, yeah that's stupid. No reason to keep him unless the kids they wanted to invest in aren't that good. But even then surely there are better options. Dylan Walker seems to be going, but they keep the option for De Belin?"

"He has never had great top speed.
Lucas was moved to the second row as he wasnt considered fast enough to be a centre.
He is quick for a second rower but nowhere near express and he pulled away from Ionghi.
I hope he is underdone. Time will tell."

Need for Speed

Here we go again after another loss and once again it's evident we need speed and quality players in our backline. The game in 2026 relies on scramble defence from your outside backs and edges who also need to have the strike to finish opportunities…
