AHH THE GOOD OLD DAYS

Well here we are its grand final day and it marks the end of another season and I thought I would just reflect o n seasons gone by

I miss the old times of when you would have the old backyard Barbie with the family and selected mates and get half cut before the 3 o'clock kickoff

When beer was full flavoured and full of hops .not the chemical made crap of today .AHH give me the old KB or DA any day

When all this climate change talk was not an issue and people did not push their beliefs down  each other's throats one way or the other

When the warm and fuzzy brigade did not get their knickers in a Knott when some of us have said we dont go for female commentators or female Refs and touch judges .AHH bring Back Frank Hyde Rexy Ferris Ashton Alan Clackson .Hollywood Hartley .that tall cheating bastard from up north that used to referee the state of origin the grasshopper Gomersal .Ahh  the good old day's. But in saying all that I'll still watch the game tonight .just hope that its a good game .WHO to win dont really care as i dont go much on either team .just good luck to both teams and may the best team wins on its own merits and with out to much controversy and finally i just wish everbody and their family's a safe and happy grand final Day .but i still miss the good old days

  • Was at the bat and ball pub after 1969 GF Balmain defeating south, with the boys from the Bush ,a massive brawl broke out when one of our group grabbed a Souths flag from a vw that was at the lights,it it was on ,the man at his hot dog stand took off at the speed of a winger ,I think he might be still running .

  • Purse your lips and exhale. Well my old man f...cked that up in the birds and bees talk.

  • All of the above and I also miss people not being able to have a smoke without the authorities saying you can’t smoke in public places etc ( I have never smoked but I detest the government interference)

Or ride a bloody pushie without having to wear a bloody helmet!

Or being forced to have low alcohol beer at the footy

or having to accept a certain doctrine be it climate change or women’s rights or gay rights and having it shoved down your throat and if you don’t accept it you are an outcast.

  • I miss no internet so I didn't have to listen to you old bastards whinge about how good the old days where:)

I miss 3.00pm kick offs. You'd be so psyched as a kid emulating the plays from the GF, running around till dark and the dry day weather made for better footy.

    • At least we have gotten to be old bastards

  • Born during the 2 nd world Hector were you ,I was.

"That is also why Ryles went with smaller forwards for that short passing game in the middle. Lack of bigger middles and the tuck the ball under the arm style players."

"I was thinking tonight watching the game, take away Burton's kicking and what else do you have? He's still a good player, but his best years are behind him without a doubt. I'd still take him for 2-3 years at 6 transitioning to centre."

Angry Eel replied to Fiddy's discussion Burton to Eels?
"Agreed. DB was never a natural right to left kicker and adding a left footer gives us a dynamic we haven't had in a long time. If true Burton is a cracking buy. I said a while ago when everyone was saying he would go to Perth for the coin that it…"

"Agreed on that approach. Explain clearly the development plan for Lorenzo, and why this is good for his career. Make sure his manager fully understands too."

Offside replied to Roy tannous's discussion Is this the bench moving foward
"I think Joash will be the 6 volkman or pezet will be the 18.
But that's a decent bench assuming Ryley is back soon"

"Fair, though clubs will pay him as a 6. Let's see him with a proper 7 though. Who knows. "

"Only way you get Herbie to Parra is offering him Fullback to be fair and we ain't doing that."

"Hooper was also the one that had the way off Origin team. Plus same company Kent does poddy with and mates with Hoops, he said Galvin 100% done at Parra. So not great from that mob."

LB replied to Fiddy's discussion Burton to Eels?
"Dogs have gone cold on him as they've realised Galvin is better at 6, so being stubborn, Burton is odd man out for Galvin who is their new toy to try and make it work."

Michael W. replied to Fiddy's discussion Burton to Eels?
"Burton is a true left side player. He and JAC had a lethal combination at the Dogs. I wouldn't be surprised if JAC recommended him to Ryles."

The Captain replied to Fiddy's discussion Burton to Eels?
"Galvin as a 6 I would take in a heartbeat. We better be regularly sliding into his DMs reminding him how easy it was for him to get out of his Tigers contract...and if you can do it once..."

EA replied to Fiddy's discussion Burton to Eels?
"Nope. He is a centre that can kick."

The Captain replied to Fiddy's discussion Burton to Eels?
"I don't get the love for Burton.
No one has really figured out to use his skills in a way that makes him as valuable as everyone expects him to be (and what he'd expect his pay packet to be).
He's a talented footy player who's hype over the years…"
