Why doubt Ryles ?

Lot of fans are upset with the one year Pezet deal, and I understand that. But let's look at the calls Ryles has made since joining the club.

Gutho and RCG getting moved on immediately got some backlash as well, big call but Ryles was correct. Lot of people didn't like this at the time.

Brought in his own group of players that fit the system he wants to play, might not be big names but they fit the style. Jack Williams Dylan Walker types.

Sean Russell the most hated eel on the roster. Ryles has given him the confidence to be a starter. He's taken that and run with it.

Give this loan with Pezet thing a chance and let's see what else happens around that before throwing all the toys out of the cot.

      • What's the lie? Like anyone else, if Pezet doesn't put it, perform or carries on, he'll be in reggies, warming a bench or released early. But Ryles knows Pezet well & would've vouched for him even if he isn't a long-term-fit-or-six.

        • Just that DB wasn't benched as soon as he wasn't commited to the club. It took us to be out of contention before Ryles looked to the futurre

    • Yeah Wiz. The whole "Kaizen" thing walks a fine line between being a practical, useful guiding philosophy for a culture and being a bunch of stylized selfhelp yappy claptrap. Hypocrisy, especially in decisions from above, turns one into the other. Hypocrisy is Kaizen Kryptonite.

I cannot find a way to corral this Pezhed business into Kaizen, so it could be kryptonite

  • We better hope one of these juniors makes big strides if not we put ourselves back a year and burn another year with Moses.

I'd prefer just riding with Joash and give him the duties at 6 in the end this loan deal doesn't help us really long term.It helps Pezet it helps the Broncs if everything goes well here we are basically giving the premiers  a long term 7 while ours is headed in the other direction and potentially still have a hole at 6.

    • True. No guarentees. Penrith did it and lucked out. But no certainties that Lorenzo works out, no certainties that Fletcher works out. Hell no certainties that Talagi, Funa-Iuta, Tuivaiti, Bamblett, Petrus, Polley or any kids we have with raps on them even work out.

I can see how it helps Talataina with Hawkins going, Pezet starts and Lorenzo plays in Cup. But can do that without Pezet and keeping Hawkins but dropping Volkman.

This situation is not like we are a 6 away from being premiership threats. We are a 6, a Prop, a Back-rower and if Lomax leaves a Winger.

  • For me it's all about money. It's got to be super cheap

    • That's Parra - SUPER CHEAP

Maybe we should approach SUPER CHEAP auto to be our major sponsor - would perfectly align with our motto.

      • Anasta reckons we got him super cheap. Which would you rather: unders, overs or in-between? When we pay unders, we're cheap dopes. When we pay overs, we're desperate dopes. We can set our clocks to it. The Days of our Lives...

        • There is a common theme here Hoey, "dopes"

  • I think we can all admit this deal is weird. I've never heard of any other club making this kind of deal before. This is off the back of the other weird deal we offered DB, which no club had ever offered before also. Why do we stitch ourselves up when it comes to recruitment and retention? It's amateurish, and anyone calling it anything else is kidding themselves.

It is not in line with what we've been sold from Ryles. Something smells off and it's completely fair for fans to call it out. I'm not going to say it's a disaster, only time will tell but it is yet another weird deal with a lot of potential to disrupt the club. it seems desperate, risky and illogical. I'm doubting the club just as much as Ryles with this one.
