Sadly, I of the Loser Professor Wanker class, discovered that a mod deleted a post of mine. Said mod claims it was a total accident. The post was about Lomax being a tool and hopefully the court agrees. But who accepts accidents or coincidences these days? It was clearly a conspiracy and censorship! CLEARLY!
Which brings me to why it was TOTALLY FINE to censor me. Professors suck. Take it from me. All teachers are evil. OBVIOUSLY.
What are you top reasons why those with educational qualifications suck? Why professors suck? Why teachers are evil?
I'll start. We indoctrinate the youth. Specifically, we encourage them to think and use evidence when thinking. This is evil. Also, we are elitists. Just better than all other swine by saying "ya know is that rooly true". This is bad.
I'm calling for all mods to be banned for censoring me. This is not a contradiction because there are no contradictions. Why are you comparing different clauses in a sentence for consistency, that sounds like something a professor would do. And they're bad and evil.
Top reasons why academics suck?

Someone wrote this blog wondering why academics aren't as respected as they presumably should be. The reason is their appeal to their own authority. Even now, as degrees decline in value to the job market, the people selling them are trying to prop up the industry with promises of tEaChInG yOu HoW tO tHiNk NoT wHaT tO tHiNk!!!
Poupou, how - specifically - do academics "appeal to their own authority"? Look at your own example, which does NOT display the fallacy of argument from authority. If X says a degree has utility value for Y because X can teach Y how to think not what to think, then "how" is "external" to Y when compared to the "what" condition.
Why does externality matter? Because the fallacy of argument from authority is normally taught by noting John Locke's critique of it. Locke showed that argumentum ad verecundiam is basically a call for reverence, of not challenging WHAT an authority says/thinks/recommends. No external evidence and no reasons beyond personal standing are offered, just personal standing.
Teaching someone HOW to think (for themselves) is the opposite of reverence. To know HOW to think, pay attention to evidence offered and reasons given, not just personal standing.
Given your own example of argument from authority is not argument from authority, which I have shown through an argument relying on lines of evidence and connections between points (i.e. 'external' to my standing), I have tried to teach you to think for yourself by knowing HOW to spot argument from authority.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO ACTUAL LOGIC
As long as you agree that you have no authority to teach outside of your limited remit, in your workplace, then we aren't in dispute here. But other academics (not you) who believe their qualifications position them as arbiters of truth still suck, which is what I believe you were asking for in this thread.
Poupou, you think academics "speaking outside the narrow remit" are the worst offenders for speaking outside their remit?
Poupou, who told you that having an MA either gave you a right or obligation to "tell people ... about how they should live"?
But let's imagine, just for arguments sake, your MA is in contract law. Poupou LLM. I say to you that Lomax is obviously going to slaughter the Eels in court because restraint of trade is illegal in Australia. Call me Mr Sovereign Citizen. You reply that your MA is sufficient grounds to tell me I am wrong, it's legal but the question is always reasonableness.
Have you told me how to live, or deployed subject specific knowledge to inform?
PS: Reason 86 why teachers suck. They tend to be specific about stuff.
So specific that you've created a thread about why academics suck? Do you mean all academics or just some of them? You haven't been very specific, and now you're retreating behind a not-all-academics deflection. Pure sophistry. This is why (some) academics suck. Not all of them, but the sample that does certainly includes you.
