Sadly, I of the Loser Professor Wanker class, discovered that a mod deleted a post of mine. Said mod claims it was a total accident. The post was about Lomax being a tool and hopefully the court agrees. But who accepts accidents or coincidences these days? It was clearly a conspiracy and censorship! CLEARLY!
Which brings me to why it was TOTALLY FINE to censor me. Professors suck. Take it from me. All teachers are evil. OBVIOUSLY.

I'll start. We indoctrinate the youth. Specifically, we encourage them to think and use evidence when thinking. This is evil. Also, we are elitists. Just better than all other swine by saying "ya know is that rooly true". This is bad.
I'm calling for all mods to be banned for censoring me. This is not a contradiction because there are no contradictions. Why are you comparing different clauses in a sentence for consistency, that sounds like something a professor would do. And they're bad and evil.

Your example to demonstrate my sophistry does not unpack the actual example, instead you divert to a red herring about degree of specifity (about what you are unclear).
In the example given, you had equated a degree to telling people how to live. I asked why, for instance, a lawyer correcting misinfo about what is required in a restraint of trade case for the restraint to be reasonable would amount to telling others how to live? Would it not just be using specialist knowledge to inform?
If that example is sophistry, we assume you grant it is plausible but have an argument why it is invalid. That I created the thread is not germane to whether my example is invalid.
As you say, I am in your class of academics who suck, but that is not a reason why my example is invalid unless you think ad hominem is not a fallacy.

It's nothing to do with your lawyer example. It's that you feel entitled to teach what you aren't being paid to teach, to people who aren't paying you. Like your constant appeals to the authority of other academics like Eco and Weber. As if everyone should recognise their moral authority. But they have no authority, they are just people who put into words ideas that some people already believe and others disagree with wholeheartedly.
Poupou, now you just divert to other unsubstantiated claims, rather than address the counter-example of the lawyer example I provided and which you claimed was invalid.
This is shoddy argument on your part by being unable to warrant the specific claim you made.
PS: I'm also prepared to prove that my Weber example was not argument from authority either. Specifically, you cited Weber's account of the State enjoying a monopoly on legitimate force to warrant ICE extra-judicial killings. Aside from the questionable morals of your position there, my reply did not rest on "but Weber"' it rested on noting you dropped 'legitimacy' and were this misapplying Weber. So, again, you charge "argument from authority" but consistently use examples which have extra features beyond appeal to authority, meaning you don't seem to understand the charge you're bandying about.
